Position Summary:
We are looking for a talented, dynamic, and seasoned sales professional with a proven track record of building sales in consumer-packaged goods. Must have a minimum 10 years of experience. The ideal candidate would have "big company" fundamentals combined with growing brands in an entrepreneurial environment. As a key member of the sales team, you will be responsible for driving revenue for all channels through the execution of strategic plans and promotions. You will manage the brokerage network, make customer presentations, plan assortment decisions, and execute promotions for your geographic region. Desired Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years with strong consumer packaged goods background and sales fundamentals trained by large food company.
- Additional success in an entrepreneurial environment
- Proven strong leadership and management capabilities
- Strong understanding of different departments within retail especially In Store Bakery
- Possesses a full understanding of the food distributor network and processes
- Has strong experience in grocery, mass, natural, club and private label.
- Proven experience managing multiple broker teams
- Have the ability to travel regularly
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of the distribution strategy for all channels to ensure the achievement of strategic objectives in the most efficient and cost-effective manner to meet company growth goals and maximize profitability.
- Direct the overall sales performance for all categories and sales channels in region to achieve the annual and long-term business plan.
- Manage broker partners to drive sales execution
- Execute trade show strategy and attend appropriate industry trade shows
- Help develop and maintain marketing programs with our customers
- Create high growth sales
Position Requirements:
- Strong leadership and management skills, with experience growing a sales organization.
- Strong "Challenger Sales" fundamentals
- Financial acumen required: Budgeting, Forecasting, Planning, P&L oversight
- Strong knowledge of the food industry / grocery aisle
- Ability to travel extensively
- Able to think on corporate/strategic level, in concepts and solutions.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and thrive in an extremely fast-paced and ambiguous environment that requires flexibility, adaptability and being creative.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate and close business in meetings and training environments.
- Position is out of home office
