General Summary:
The Area Sales Manager (ASM) is responsible for the direct management and leadership of an assigned territory. The ASM is responsible for leading the direction, execution, and proper reporting of outcomes to ensure expected revenue goals are met. The ASM also leads the Sales team to identify opportunities, establish goals and objectives to deliver business plan and goals; managing business changes; ensuring new program benefits are obtained; monitoring key performance metrics, and managing resources efficiently.
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED. Bachelors Preferred.
- Valid VA Driver License – MVR must meet company standards
- Pass criminal background and drug screen
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Advanced selling skills
- Proven leadership ability, personnel management skills
- Excellent problem solving, analytical solving skills
- Strong attention to detail
- 5 years of progressive management experience in the beer or related industry preferred
- Basic PC Skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Sales system experience a plus
- Ability to collaborate with others, internal and external customers
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for maximizing sales of all Hoffman Beverage products in assigned territory by increasing brand awareness, package distribution, and any display opportunities
- Sets team up for success by motivating, coaching, training, and teaching how to deliver results
- Provides honest assessments of the team for efficiency and improvement and resources for learning to create intentional developmental plans necessary to support continuous progress and career growth opportunities
- Promotes a fun, results-driven work environment that achieves its results in a safe, professional, and ethical environment
- Owns customer service, relationships, and growth with internal and external customers through the establishment of positive, profitable, selling relationships with key accounts to drive successful execution of plans in the market
- Utilize ABI selling tools to maximize opportunities
- Leads cross-functional collaboration by partnering with other functional departments including Warehouse and Delivery department leaders to ensure shared expectations are met and exceeded
- Communicate problem areas and opportunities with respective pre-salesman and inform Director, Grocery and/or VP of Sales of progress and/or deficiencies
- Establishes management routines to ensure communication between account managers are maintained; providing input and direction regarding merchandising standards, set integrity, product supply, forecasts, and capacity efficiencies, inventory risks to maximize revenue
- Manages, leads, and motivates a team to deliver results by communicating company goals, safety practices, and deadlines, engaging and developing team leaders/account managers through effective performance management, and coaching and training
- Implements continuous improvement methods while maintaining customer focus, and embodies company purpose and “TAP-IN” values to inspire servant leadership
- Maintain Monthly Weekend Merchandising schedule
- Attendance at sales and management meetings is mandatory
- Must be available to attend scheduled retailer activities and be able to participate in retailer entertainment activities during and after normal working hours
- Performs other duties as directed
