The Contract Sales Manager plays a vital role in steering the profitable growth of contract manufacturing. This position is key to expanding market share and driving revenue through the strategic management of outside sales efforts. Working at the intersection of business development, customer relationship management, and team leadership, this role is designed for an individual skilled in identifying and closing new business opportunities, collaborating with internal teams, and providing innovative solutions to clients. The Sales Manager acts as both a leader and connector, managing a team of sales professionals and aligning compnay’s solutions with customer needs.

They must excel at fostering high-level client relationships, structuring and overseeing key initiatives, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure customer satisfaction and business growth. Duties:
· Sales Team Oversight:
Manage and mentor outside sales representatives, reviewing weekly sales reports, assessing trip plans, and tracking task file notes for productivity and alignment with business goals.
Monitor expense and mileage reports, ensuring efficient spending and use of resources.
· Account Development & Strategic Planning:
Develop and manage sales plans for targeted accounts.
Actively manage the new business pipeline, utilizing CRM systems to track, update, and close high-probability opportunities.
· Performance Management & Development:
Lead personal improvement initiatives for sales representatives, fostering skill development and effective sales practices.
Participate in territory realignment and recruitment efforts to optimize sales coverage and team composition.
· Collaboration & Sales Support:
Serve as a liaison between customers, prospects, and internal technical teams, coordinating resources to meet client needs.
Act as a bridge between sales and technical personnel to streamline processes and ensure seamless delivery of sales support.
· Other Duties as Assigned:
Adapt and contribute to additional projects and responsibilities as they arise, aligned with the company’s evolving needs.
Education/Certification Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Experience & Skill Requirements:
· 5-7 years of experience in a sales management role, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
· Strong consultative and strategic sales background with a proven record in managing and motivating a sales team.
· High proficiency in managing long-term projects and achieving profitable results.
· In-depth understanding of outsourced solutions and marketing-focused service offerings.
· Exceptional presentation, negotiation, and communication skills tailored to executive audiences.
· Proven ability to create needs-based proposals and influence key decision-makers.
· Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and planning skills.
· Highly self-motivated, capable of operating with minimal oversight.
Physical Requirements:
This role primarily operates within an office and customer-facing environment, involving standard office equipment. Occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds may be required.
Supervision Over the Following Roles:
· Directly oversees Territory Sales Representatives, providing guidance, direction, and support to meet team and organizational objectives.
Work Schedule/Overtime/Travel Requirements:
· This position requires flexibility, with travel expected as part of ongoing business development and customer management efforts. Frequent travel is essential for team engagement, customer meetings, and territory management, with an expected weekly commitment of 40-55 hours.
