JOB SUMMARY: Oversees the efficient operation of merchandising standards and presentation, operational functions in key areas such as the sales floor (excluding firearms and the range), and assists Store Operations Manager in managing key areas such as maintenance and receiving. Ensures peg integrity throughout the accessories on the retail floor. Accountable for achieving sales and margin goals while maximizing overall customer satisfaction by delivering the World’s Greatest Firearm Experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO):

  • Develops an effective merchandise team.
  • Provides coaching, training and development to Associates and Supervisors.
  • Provides specialized training for fashion feature, and merchandise presentation to Associates.
  • Provides recognition, counseling, and disciplinary actions to Store Associates in aconsistent and timely manner.
  • Prepares and conducts evaluations for all respective reporting Associates.
  • Directs merchandising work assignments throughout the retail floor.
  • Creates an environment that fosters open communication and information sharing among all Associates.
  • Maintains and supports company values, code of conduct, (including, but not limited to:
  • Open Door, Diversity in the Workplace) and maintenance of a risk-free environment.

Maximizes store sales opportunities (both current and future).

  • Identifies merchandising opportunities and challenges in each department by reviewing daily sales reports.
  • Develops and coordinates action plans and conducts follow-up.
  • Identifies business opportunities by reviewing merchandise presentation and communicates presentation recommendations to the General Manager.
  • Shops local competition for comparisons with merchandise, pricing and display, and provides feedback to store team.
  • Supervises markdowns and ensures timely and accurate markdown completion.

Maintains merchandising presentation to store standards.

  • Provides direction and follow up to Store Associates in order to ensure timely execution of merchandise related directives, ad features, and signage. Ensures signage is up to date, all sale signage is executed, and promptly removed after the sale period has ended.
  • Supervises Associates to ensure that all merchandise is properly sized (if applicable),categorized, tagged, and has an up to date shelf talker with the current pricing.
  • Provides direction and support to Associates to ensure store recovery is conducted as needed throughout the day.
  • Ensures that merchandise feature presentations are maintained consistently.

Oversees and manages the operations of the store.

  • Addresses immediate customer service issues and provides appropriate coaching.
  • Supervises operational areas such as cash office and receiving when appropriate (in the absence of the Operations Manager).
  • Supports the General Manager in managing shrink reduction programs.
  • Exercises discretion regarding customer service policies in order to satisfy customers (price adjustments, merchandise holds, refunds, and etc.)

Minimal formal education:

  • High School graduate or equivalent degree required
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience

Minimum job content knowledge required:

  • Knowledge of company standard software, systems, and procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Skills in coaching, teaching and training, organizing and planning work assignments, delegating duties
  • Knowledge of merchandise flow in stores

Minimum experience required:

  • At least 1 year of retail management experience
  • Completion and comprehension of all employee trainings
  • Specific jobs which could prepare an individual for this job:
  • Merchandising Supervisor
  • Receiving Supervisor

Job Type: Full-time

Payment frequency:

  • Paid biweekly

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
