The Event Sales Manager at the Hyatt Regency Denver at the Colorado Convention Center is responsible for servicing group sales bookings as well as selling and servicing local events.

The sales focus is in selling banquet food, beverage and event room rental for business meetings, conferences, affiliate functions, weddings and all other social events to include galas, awards banquets, holiday parties and personal gatherings. Manager will carry a quota and is accountable for exceeding that quota.

Duties to include prospecting new business, lead management, contract negotiation, conflict resolution, menu development, logistic planning, hotel tours, food tastings and client entertainment. In addition, Event Manager is responsible for communicating client’s needs to hotel staff, meeting services providers such as Audio-Visual partners, internet provider, outside vendors and preferred DMCs; before, during and post-event to ensure a high level of service.

Service responsibilities include managing the executed sales agreement, detailing all F&B and all other meeting needs, identifying ways to enhance the experience, effectively manage room blocks, understanding group history and pick up performance, familiarizing client with Hyatt’s planner technology, being the group onsite point of contact, conducting all administrative tasks, group billing management and finalizing post-convention reports.

Our Event Sales Manager is expected to be actively involved in our community, industry related organizations as well as all Hyatt associate programs.

Qualifications

Qualifications for this position:

  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment while carrying positive attitude and living Hyatt’s values and mission.
  • A minimum of 3 years of hotel event sales and event planning with proven achievement in recent years while maintaining positive customer service satisfaction
  • Candidates should be extremely detail oriented, organized and be able to handle a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be proficient in the following computer programs: Envision sales, Envision Detailing Event Concierge Application, Event Concierge Console, Cognos, Hy-Res, Opera, Social Tables, Sertifi, Hyatt Credit Portal, Group Bill, Planner Portal, Clover, Cendyn e-menus and e-brochure, EventBzz, Oracle, Track-It and Microsoft office. Reserve and Opera experience are a plus.
  • Ability to adapt and change in this new environment.
  • Preferred candidate has completed. Hyatt’s New Manager Training and Successful Selling Skills.
  • Refined verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills

Salary range for this position is $64,100 - $80,100. Actual pay will be commensurate with experience.
