As our Sales Manager for Phoenix, Arizona, you’ll be at the heart of our expansion in one of the fastest-growing markets in the country. Your role will focus on driving new business through prospecting activities like cold calling, emailing, and face-to-face meetings with potential clients. You’ll work closely with local General Managers to build strategic relationships, grow market share, and strengthen our presence in the dry van trailer rental industry.

- Develop and Execute a Prospecting Strategy:
Work closely with Chief Development Officer and local GMs to create and implement a plan targeting new business opportunities in the assigned region. - Lead Generation & New Customer Acquisition:
Identify potential customers through cold calling, emailing, in-person visits, and networking events to drive new business. - Market Outreach and Engagement:
Spend approximately 75% of time in the field, actively visiting potential clients and engaging with prospects to assess their needs and present appropriate storage and cartage solutions. - Collaborate with Local Leadership:
Work in tandem with GMs to align on strategies for market penetration and customer engagement, ensuring seamless onboarding of new clients. - Upselling and Cross-Selling Opportunities:
Proactively identify opportunities to offer additional products and services to new customers, collaborating with the GM to ensure customer needs are fully met. - Pipeline and CRM Management:
Maintain accurate records of leads, activities, and opportunities within CRM (Dynamics) and ensure timely follow-ups to convert leads into long-term accounts. - Industry Networking & Events:
Participate in trade shows, industry events, and professional networking opportunities to build connections and gain market intelligence. - Monitor Market Trends and Competitor Activity:
Stay informed about regional trends and competitor movements to adapt sales strategies accordingly and capitalize on emerging opportunities. - Sales Reporting and Performance Tracking:
Prepare and present progress reports, sales forecasts, and performance updates to management. - Additional Duties:
Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support business growth initiatives.
- Strong understanding of the dry van trailer rental market and familiarity with storage & cartage solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly with potential customers.
- Highly motivated, results-driven, and comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
- Exceptional prospecting skills, including cold calling, emailing, and in-person outreach.
- Strong business acumen with analytical skills to identify and evaluate new opportunities.
- Proficiency with CRM systems (Dynamics), Sycor, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven track record of success in sales, business development, or new account acquisition, preferably in equipment rental, logistics, or transportation industries.
- Willingness to travel within the assigned region as required, with local travel being the primary focus (potential for up to 50%).
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
