Job Summary:
The Sales Engineer is responsible for providing technical sales support and guidance to customers. The ideal candidate will work closely with the sales team to identify customer needs and provide technical solutions to meet those needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales revenue targets by developing a territory-specific growth plan
- Demonstrate and present products to customers in a professional manner
- Provide technical sales support by responding to customer inquiries and conducting product demonstrations
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers
- Analyze customer needs and provide appropriate solutions
- Prepare quotes, contracts and other sales-related documentation
- Monitor customer accounts and provide timely follow-up communications
- Stay up to date on product information, industry trends and competitors
- Attend trade shows, conferences, and other sales events.
- Prepare and give technical presentations to explain to customers how the products and services work.
- Work with the customers and Engineers to ensure the equipment meets the system requirements.
- Communicate with the sales team to understand consumer demands and offer sales support where necessary.
- Secure orders, guarantee product standards and assure product delivery.
- Establish customer rapport and acceptance.
- Plan for modifications to products to meet consumer demands.
- Help clients to solve problems with product usage.
- Recommend new and improved products to the customers and explain how the equipment will be more cost-effective.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field
- Three (3) years of experience in a technical sales role
- Proven success in developing and maintaining relationships with customers
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Knowledge of CRM and other sales software preferred
- Willingness to travel as needed
Skills & Knowledge:
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships
- Ability to influence decision makers at all levels of an organization, from CEO to front-office personnel
- Solid experience with CRM software and Microsoft Office suite (particularly Excel)
- Ability to understand and analyze sales performance metrics
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem solving, analytical and negotiation skills
- Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to multitask
- Goal and action oriented
- Exceptional customer service skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $88,345.00 - $96,274.00 per year
