Summary: Sales/ Design
The Design & Sales Consultant is responsible for generating sales and providing an exceptional experience to all customers who choose Skylar's Home and Patio.
Responsibilities:
1. Sales Generation
- Develop a client base through engaging customers that come to our store via website, phone or in person.
- Demonstrate effective sales techniques in the areas of engagement, determining needs, overcoming objections, adding on and closing the sale.
- Achieve assigned sales goal through effective account management and targeting specific customers.
- Demonstrate the ability to make same day sales, but also know when to slow the sale down when applicable.
*Follow up on all quotes, leads and contacts
2. Customer Experience
- Create a welcoming and high-energy vibe that our customers feel when they walk through our doors.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the Skylar's Home and Patio product lines and Vendors that are offered.
- Design and create projects using technical and creative skills in color and space planning.
- Create home furnishing design solutions by selling products that are consistent with the customer's lifestyle and budget.
- Remain the expert on current design and color trends to create fashionable design solutions.
3. Operational Excellence
- Enter all customer orders according to company policy and procedure.
- Follow up and communicate on all open orders to company operations team and customer; present creative solutions and demonstrate problem-solving skills when product delays occur.
- Read all communication and material on product or processes from corporate offices.
- Attend store meetings, share information among peers and utilize the website, price book and other marketing materials available.
- Follow company policies and procedures including attendance, personal conduct, dress code and employee discount.
4. Store standards
- Help maintain impeccable standards on the sales floor so that our customers can see our attention to detail in everything we do; maintain a clean work space, back room and restroom.
- Help ensure cohesive visual displays within the store; Assist in floor and fixture changes according the company procedural systems.
Position requirements:
- A knack for design and space planning
- Retail furniture experience preferred
- Basic Computer skills to include pos systems email etc.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 lbs.
- Must be able to work holidays and weekends
Hiring Full Time Thursday- Monday 9:45-6:15
