In this role as the Vice President of Global Sales, you will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and leading the global sales team, developing a strategy for driving business growth and success. This is a senior leadership position in the organization, leading the team to develop and execute the company’s growth strategy. As a member of the company’s executive team, you help develop and lead company direction and initiatives to enable us to continue to be a great place to work and to win in the industry and for our customers.

You will build synergies, trust, and linkage with our operations and manufacturing teams, and you will be a trusted partner to a portfolio of great customers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Develop, coach and manage a Global Sales team with the goal of growing sales and margin and surpassing objectives
  • Create a positive and performance-driven sales culture, build a repeatable sales process to deliver results and coach/develop all levels of sales professionals.
  • Work in partnership with the Marmon Utility senior leadership team to set and deliver successful growth strategies and operating results.
  • Designs, implements and manages sales forecasting, planning and budgeting processes. Establishes high level of quality, accuracy and process consistency in planning, forecasting and budgeting approaches used by the sales organization.
  • Establish and maintain a Key Performance Indicators matrix as a sales measurement tool of performance and comparison to prior months and years.
  • Lead the organization to be skilled in building, servicing, satisfying and maintaining customer relationships with current accounts and new potential customers
  • Develop and oversee the pricing strategy and process to ensure alignment with the company strategy and that the team is aligned with the structure and plan
  • Designs, implements and manages sales forecasting, planning and budgeting processes. Establishes high level of quality, accuracy and process consistency in planning, forecasting and budgeting approaches used by the sales organization.
  • Connect personally with major key accounts – maintain excellent business relationships with these accounts.
  • Identify new product/service opportunities. Coordinate and manage customer project needs and expectations.
  • Develop key account business development plans. Identify the needs of key accounts and develop a winning strategy.
  • Assist in the strategic planning, implementation and business planning for Marmon Utility.
  • Provide guidance on utilizing technology tools and create environment for effective usage
  • These are the general duties required to fulfill the VP Sales & Marketing job description, not a detailed description of all work required. New duties and responsibilities may be required to meet the changing demands of the business and technology.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE QUALIFICATIONS

WHO YOU ARE

  • You have executive presence to influence senior decision makers.
  • You are a proven leader with a track record of building high performance teams. You are collaborative and have experience with key cross-functional stakeholders in engineering and manufacturing.
  • You have a four-year college degree from an accredited institution; master’s in business administration (MBA) or equivalent is preferred.
  • You have 10-15 years experience in sales leadership, business planning or related management role.
  • You have experience leading pricing strategy and execution.
  • You have experience implementing and working with Salesforce (or equivalent CRM system)
  • You have demonstrated experience in all aspects of sales operations including inside sales support, external customer-facing representatives, etc.
  • You have a track record of success in strategic planning and execution.
  • You have a high Level of financial and business acumen.
  • You have exposure to the Utility industry; technical knowledge of electrical utilities, distribution systems, and products is a plus.
  • You have excellent analytical, time management and problem-solving skills.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES QUALIFICATIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Work independently. This is a self-managed, results oriented leadership position.
  • You are able to travel up to 75% of the time and occasionally take extended trips that could include weekends.
  • You have excellent prioritization skills, and can determine the optimal organizational approach with sales reps and customers
  • Establish sales objectives, metrics and forecasting
  • You are a skilled, engaging, and influential communicator.

  • Account manager staff
