Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

We are agile, innovative, and seeking aggressive growth of our engineered tank products, including our many emissions control products. Your job: develop new business in assigned territory including new customers, new product sales, and new specifications of Mesa products. Manage customer relationships and quotes for existing customers. Problem solve with technical product knowledge. Lead special projects designed to drive revenue, as assigned.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

  • Protect and grow existing customer accounts.
  • Identify, research, qualify, and develop new customers.
  • Plan and conduct activities such as prospecting, networking, and meetings to achieve sales goals
  • Troubleshoot complex problems and provide technical product and application support to customers
  • Build relationships with key customer decision makers and influencers; and manage all aspects of the customer relationship within assigned territory

· Continuously seek, document, and submit information on customer needs, challenges, behaviors, and business practices to support our Customer Intelligence culture.

  • Stay abreast of industry developments, constantly acquire technical knowledge, and serve as a resource to external and internal customers
  • Obtain all relevant data from the customer to support accurate, efficient, competitive quoting and service
  • Effectively utilize Salesforce CRM application to maintain information and opportunities, manage the sales pipeline, and inform accurate sales forecasts
  • Represent the company at trade shows and association meetings
  • Follow-up during installation of products to ensure proper installation and quality standards
  • Incumbent must reside in the assigned territory
  • Collaborate with sales representatives from different territories to share best practices and support a cohesive sales approach
  • Coordinate with other team members and departments to optimize sales efforts and customer satisfaction
  • Lead and manage special projects assigned (primary focus is revenue generation through sales efficiency, new product development, product adjacencies etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned

PRIMARY COMPETENCIES

  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Familiarity with above-ground storage tanks (API-650 and API-653) for chemical or petroleum storage including fixed and floating roofs
  • Experience working remotely/independently is required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM software (preferably Salesforce)
  • Strong accountability, self-motivation, good judgment, and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to derive insights and innovative ideas from that personal knowledge of customers and their current and future needs
  • Strong proactive selling, problem solving and communication skills

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

EXPERIENCE:

10+ years of sales or technical experience (e.g., Project Manager, Tank Forman, Engineer, etc.) in the above-ground storage tank (AST) industry, or similar field, working directly with storage terminals, refineries, or related contractors.
