Morgan Construction and Environmental Ltd. was formed in 1999 as a small family-owned company which has continued to expand into larger projects and new sectors, to diversify our work types and create new partnerships with clients. Today, we offer a wide range of services including construction, environmental remediation, waste management, and more.

Job Description

We are looking to hire a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to lead our efforts in expanding our presence in the environmental and demolition industry. The ideal candidate will be based out of Edmonton or Calgary, Alberta, and will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and driving sustainable growth aimed at achieving revenue targets.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conducting comprehensive market research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential clients in the environmental and demolition sector
  • Identifying and engaging potential clients; building strong relationships with key decision-makers in the industry; and working with existing clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions
  • Exploring and proposing innovative solutions to enhance the company’s environmental and demolition services
  • Developing and implementing business development strategies to achieve growth objectives in the environmental/demolition market
  • Working closely with the executive team to align business development goals with overall company objectives
  • Evaluating potential collaboration opportunities, and negotiating partnerships with industry stakeholders to drive innovation and sustainability
  • Preparing and presenting compelling proposals, bids, and presentations for potential projects
  • Negotiating and finalizing contracts, and seeing to it that the terms align with company goals and regulatory requirements
  • Representing Morgan at industry events, conferences, and networking functions
  • Actively engaging with industry associations and organizations to build a strong professional network
  • Staying abreast of emerging technologies and best industry practices; ensuring that the company’s brand message emphasizes its commitment to environmental sustainability and responsible demolition practices.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Five to ten-years’ experience in business development, civil remediation, or a related field, required
  • Previous experience in business development within the environmental and demolition industry
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Technologist’s Diploma in Business, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Solid understanding of construction in terms of such key sectors as: heavy civil, environment and demolition, civil remediation, and oil and gas is considered an asset
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, interpersonal communication, problem-solving, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Proficiency building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders
  • Must possess a valid class 5 driver’s license, with a clean three-year abstract
  • Expertise in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
