Job Overview:

The DoubleTree by Hilton Ottawa Downtown is seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Manager to support our sales team. The Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies to drive revenue growth and expand our customer base.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Research assigned market to identify potential sources of business /clients within the market segment(s) assigned.
  • Actively solicits business for assigned market through pre-planned personal sales calls, mailers, marketplaces, attendance at receptions, promotions, in person meetings, etc.
  • Follows up all sales activities, and logs accurately all activities.
  • Accurately confirms all bookings, quotes, and negotiates rates while adhering to hotel rate structure, credit policies and general hotel and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Adheres to and meets quota pre-determined by the Director of Sales
  • Maintains client production tracking, re-acting to production drops off by re-qualifying and re-soliciting.
  • Is in close, in-person contact with the client or group while in house to ensure satisfaction and to enable re-solicitation for future business.
  • Is constantly involved with client/consumer feedback to maintain product needs and standard.
  • Generates ways and means of maximization of hotel revenue in assigned market through sales strategies or any other package within the hotel (including F&B sales)
  • Responsible for full market knowledge as it relates to competitors, with respect to product, rate, positioning, and policies.
  • Attends trade shows/marketplaces as determined need arises.
  • Logs sales reports to DOS, accurately outlining all sales activities.
  • Attends all Sales Meetings
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Director of Sales.

DUTIES:

  • Research, develop, and secure new corporate business for the Hotel through direct outside & inside Sales efforts.
  • Conduct cold calls and prospecting on potential clients.
  • Attend industry events and trade shows.
  • Prepare proposals and contracts.
  • Complete weekly sales reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of the Sales & Marketing plan.

APPLICABLE SKILLS:

  • Diploma or Degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management would be an asset.
  • Commitment to exceeding guest expectations.
  • Computer literate with knowledge of a variety of computer software applications, including Delphi and ONQ.
  • Superior written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to set priorities for self.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

Experience:

  • sales: 5 years (preferred)

Work Location: In person
