Position Description:
TheTeam Leader is responsible for leading and directing the efforts of thesales team, within an assigned territory, to achieve and exceed account goals. In addition, this position inspires, motivates, and encourages teamwork within the business unit. This position exercises initiative and independent judgment in the performance of assigned tasks. Performs all duties within the objectives, standards, mission and policies of Doll Distributing LLC; State of Iowa laws and regulations governing the beer industry; and brewery/supplier requirements.
Essential Functions:
- Manage and build sales team, including merchandisers, relief account managers, and samplers, through goal setting, team sells, in market days, and employee coaching/development
- Set and track sales goals for accounts managers by KPI tracking and market reviews
- Partner with delivery department leaders to develop routing plans for account managers and drivers
- Track sales data and OOC/CTC rates, volume, and distribution, and provide reports on data when requested
- Ensure products are adequately marketed at customer accounts with displays, POS, and promotion advertisements
- Oversee space management projects
- Build relationships with customers to ensure customer satisfaction and promptly address issues
- Communicates effectively with retail/chain accounts, up to and including pricing
- Manage and develop any assigned key accounts
- Coordinates team training schedules, handles daily unexcused absences/paperwork; schedules backfill relief
- Demonstrates a commitment to learning and understanding product portfolios
- Exhibits strong commitment to the service needs of the internal/external customer
- Represents the company in a professional and courteous manner
- Compliance with all company safety regulations
- Any other work as assigned.
Non Essential Functions:
- Deliver product to customer accounts when needed
- Serve as a back-up account managers for placing orders and account visits as necessary
- Set up new customer accounts as needed
Essential Skills and Knowledge:
- Ability to analyze sales data, budgets and related reports
- Ability to prioritize team assignments; exercises effective time management skills
- Strong written, oral and presentation skills; including use of technical aids
- Computer literacy; above average Word, Excel, Outlook, Mobility, PowerPoint and other applications as needed
- Strong mathematical aptitude; ability to understand and apply profit/margins
- Ability to work with a diverse group of people and customers.
- Knowledge of draft cleaning processes or ability to gain experience in this area
Qualifications:
- High School or GED (General Education Diploma) required
- 5+ years experience in the wholesale beverage or similar industry
- Previous supervisory/management experience
- Maintains acceptable driving record within MVR policy guidelines
- Completion of ABU training courses, annual profile requirements including certification in ABU Selling Skills

- This position will spend 90% of the shift in a climate-controlled environment and 10% of the shift in an outdoor environment

- This position will regularly drive a company vehicle on all types of roads and conditions
- Physical/Mental Organizational Capabilities
- The individual in this role must possess the ability to walk, stand, sit, bend, and climb stairs on a frequent basis. Must have the ability to safely lift a minimum of 24 lbs. without assistance, waist level, waist to shoulder level, shoulder level to overhead. Must have ability to push/pull/lift a maximum of 165 lbs. with appropriate equipment. The ability to pay attention to detail, problem solve, troubleshoot, and make decisions is required.

Visual/Hearing Capabilities
- The visual ability necessary to read and interpret a computer screen is required. The hearing ability necessary to communicate with others is required. The individual must be able to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with employees and customers on all levels of the organization and retail trade.
