The Associate Sales Engineer is responsible for assisting the Sales Engineers in the management of existing accounts, and the development of new business. The opportunity offers a great entry point for any ambitious individual looking to develop a successful career in sales. You must be able to demonstrate emotional intelligence, client advocacy, and excellent time management skills to assist in revenue growth through new and existing client relationships. Outstanding communication skills and exceptional organization skills are essential. While limited experience is necessary, a solid foundation in Word, Excel, Outlook, and CRM is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Sales Team: Work alongside Sales Engineers to develop the skills needed for success
- CRM System: Assist in maintaining database accounts, entering orders, and gathering project information
- Audiovisual Training: Participate in roundtable discussions, sales strategy sessions, and system overviews with open Q&A. Attend client, affiliate, and new business meetings for proactive learning
- Vendor Engagement: Attend industry-specific training sessions and work toward certifications
- Prospecting: Support business development efforts through targeted email and cold call campaigns
- Client Support: Help with client logistics, service coordination, and process understanding
- Internal Communications: Become familiar with the internal team and processes
- Affiliate Education: Facilitate ongoing educational sessions with key affiliate members to help them stay current on our solutions, strategies, and industry trends
- Support market growth and sales leadership in the Southeast region
- Participate in networking events and help set new business appointments
- Track opportunities, follow up on leads, and develop new business
- Learn to present solutions and pricing to clients
Pre-Sales Engineering Collaboration
Work with our pre-sales engineering team to assist with design development and proposal generation
- Bill of Materials (BOM): Coordinate costs and proposal details with Sales Engineers, Designers, and Vendors
- Scope of Work: Learn how to develope scopes of work
- Technology: Attend vendor trainings, design meetings, and create basic AV technology designs
- Proposal Development: Assist with RFP preparation and deliverables.
- Project Meetings: Participate in project kick-off meetings with Sales Engineers and production staff
- Client Meetings: Attend strategic client meetings and assist with administrative tasks and deliverables
Business Development and Client Support
- Network at industry events and develop affiliate relationships
- Support Senior Sales Engineers in nurturing small to mid-sized business leads through warm outreach and applying full-cycle sales methodologies (qualification, positioning, competitive analysis, and closing)
- Collaborate in identifying client needs and explaining how Cenero can meet those goals
- Manage and grow existing accounts while learning to develop a personal book of business
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or similar
- One to two years of business-to-business, audiovisual, or technology related sales experience preferred
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with CRM platforms (Microsoft Dynamics preferred)
- Excellent collaboration, communication, organization, and time management skills
