The Lockheed Martin Space Communications team is seeking a professional to help bolster Lockheed Martin’s strategic presence in the community, identify, develop and manage internal and external stakeholder relationships, oversee employee volunteer initiatives and oversee a nonprofit portfolio across our locations. This individual will work with an integrated, cross-functional team and external community partners to amplify our company’s social impact partnerships and storytelling and strategically engage employees. The position reports to the Social Impact Associate Manager and is based in Denver, CO.

Key Responsibilities:
Social Impact:
o Enhance Lockheed Martin’s community presence by leading partnerships with select nonprofit organizations, identifying strategic grant funding opportunities and executing employee engagement activities

o Represent Lockheed Martin at community events and serve as the relationship manager with nonprofit partners and key internal stakeholders such as business resource groups

o Shine a spotlight on Lockheed Martin’s community impact by identifying internal and external communications opportunities and partner with colleagues including, but not limited to, thought leadership communications, internal communications and marketing

o Serve as a subject matter expert on the team’s social impact strategy and nonprofit portfolio through expertise, local and national partner management and creation of key messages

Internal employee engagement and communication:
o Write content for internal communications (intranet, emails, Teams, etc.) to highlight social impact partnerships (within Space and across the business), feature employee volunteers and share Space’s local and national community impact

o Advise employees, employee groups and leaders nationwide on company policies and procedures relating to volunteerism, fundraising and philanthropy

o Assist with Lockheed Martin’s philanthropy process by managing grant invitations, approvals, payment processing and additional administrative tasks

o Represent the social impact perspective on integrated communications projects

Additional responsibilities:

o Collaborate with members of the Space Communications team and extended stakeholder teams including Government Relations, Global Diversity and Inclusion, etc. to ensure integrated execution of campaigns and projects

o Additional duties that support day-to-day operations of the Communications function

o Position involves occasional work on evenings, weekends and travel

Basic Qualifications:


Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as communications, nonprofit management, sustainability, or public relations

Relevant experience in corporate social responsibility, nonprofit development, communications, public relations and/or marketing communications

Excellent communications skills with strong writing and editing ability, including AP Style

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel

Ability to analyze complex sets of data for the purpose of evaluating and sharing impact

Desired Skills:


Knowledge of Lockheed Martin’s business

Familiarity with STEM and Military and Veteran-serving nonprofit landscapes across the country

Experience with corporate grantmaking (experience with tools like CyberGrants or Benevity a plus)

Confidence when presenting to, and communicating with, large groups of employees, including executive leadership

Demonstrated experience in working across functional and program organizations and with multiple business areas

Ability to deal with ambiguity and work well under deadline pressure with employees at all levels

Proactive, enthusiastic, highly organized and results oriented, with a strong sense of follow-up and closure

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders

A team player

Certificate in Corporate Social Responsibility, Sustainability or Environmental Social Governance

Ability to Work Remotely:

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules:

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position:

4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate:


The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $58,200 - $111,600 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
