Mountain West Region Information: This position oversees a diverse and vibrant region, including the states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Montana, and Wyoming. The Regional Sales Director is responsible for leading and managing a team of District Sales Directors and Territory Sales Managers to achieve regional sales targets across the region. This role involves recruiting, developing, and motivating top talent, while implementing effective sales strategies to drive market penetration and revenue growth. Key responsibilities include overseeing sales activities, conducting market analysis, generating new business opportunities, and ensuring financial targets are met. The ideal candidate will possess extensive sales management experience, strong leadership skills, and a thorough knowledge of the specified territories and market dynamics. The position requires extensive travel and may necessitate relocation to the region.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Team Recruitment and Development:
    • Recruit, interview, and hire top talent for District Sales Director and Territory Sales Manager positions.
    • Provide ongoing coaching, training, developing, and motivation to ensure team members reach their full potential.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and create development plans for team members.
  • Leadership and Strategy:
    • Lead and manage a team of District Sales Directors and Territory Sales Managers to achieve regional sales targets.
    • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to drive market penetration and revenue growth.
    • Conduct market analysis to identify customer needs, competitive responses, and pricing structures.

Responsibilities:

  • Sales Execution and Reporting:
    • Oversee sales activities within the region, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and engagement.
    • Generate new business opportunities through trade shows, customer meetings, and other sales activities.
    • Prepare and present periodic sales reports detailing sales trends, volumes, potential sales, and operational metrics.
  • Financial Management:
    • Analyze and control regional expenditures to align with the company’s budgetary requirements.
    • Manage the profit and loss of all territories within the region, ensuring financial targets are met or exceeded.
  • Undertake additional assigned duties as requested.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of sales experience, with at least 5 years in a sales management role.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing sales team.
  • Experience in the industry relevant to our company.
  • Familiarity with the markets in the region.
  • Ability to relocate to the region if not currently residing there.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel extensively within the assigned region.
  • Excellent management, leadership and collaboration skills.
  • Self-driven, motivated, and goal-oriented.
  • Ability to manage multiple ongoing projects and priorities.
  • Thorough knowledge of region, market and clients.
  • Proficiency with PC applications.
  • Proven ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven problem solver with confidence in business development.
  • Required to live in the Region or have the ability or willingness to relocate to the area within a defined time as agreed upon during the hiring process.
  • Candidates may be requested to complete skills assessment testing.
  • Applicants must be either a U.S. Citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Requires the ability to successfully complete a background check.
  • Candidates must possess a valid state driver's license in compliance with the laws and regulations of the relevant jurisdiction.

Working Settings:

  • Full-time Salaried Exempt, not eligible for overtime.
  • Flexibility in schedule and ability to work outside of standard business hours.
  • This position is remote in the specified region.
  • Expected travel may be up to 75% of the time.
  • Please note that this position can be physically demanding and may require regular climbing, lifting, and physical exertion. The Regional Sales Director may be required to climb on, over, and under heavy equipment and vehicles, and lift and move equipment and parts weighing up to 50 pounds.

Compensation:

  • Competitive salary paid bi-weekly. Base salary shown includes base and estimated first year commission.
  • Bonus structure based on revenue milestones. Commission/Bonus structure is designed to reward high performance and offers potential for growth based on job performance. Commission/Bonus is uncapped.
  • Company vehicle provided.
  • This position includes company-provided cell phone and computer equipment.
  • Health, Dental, and Vision starting the first of the month after 60 days of employment.
  • 401(k) plan with an employer match up to 4% starting the first day of employment.
  • Company-paid Life Insurance benefit of $25,000 with options to add more through employee contribution starting the first of the month after 60 days of employment.
  • Personal Time Off (PTO) annual amount of 120 hours which is prorated based on the number of days between the 60th day of employment and the end of the calendar year. May vary to comply with state requirements.
  • Eligible to participate in the Company Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP) after 90 days of employment.
  • Eligible to participate in the Management Incentive Equity Plan.
