Trane Technologies is currently seeking a Systems Account Manager in Chesapeake, Virginia.

In this role, you are primarily responsible for delivering on our business strategy by developing long-term customer relationships with consulting engineers, contractors, and building owners with a focus on providing customers a total solution for the most energy efficient buildings. You will bring your passion for solving problems, creating customer value, and building relationships to make an impact.
What you’ll be doing:
- Responsible for project take-off, selection, proposal pricing and selling strategy, and integration of equipment, controls, and services.
- Provide knowledge and consultation in the form of developing HVAC system related solutions for the customer’s problems, including financial and performance-based considerations.
- Consistently ascertain customer needs and current market opportunities. Assemble and coordinate acquisition team as needed for customers and projects.
- Convert leads into opportunities by assigning the appropriate sales process, identifying the required sales team members, making assignments, and communicating the next steps in the process.
- Develop and execute an account specific business plan to identify the long term, mutual support requirements required to facilitate a strong, profitable and successful partnership.
- Assist customers in answering technical questions on HVAC systems, Trane products, and system application alternative, controls, installation, operation, maintenance, and problem resolution.
- Ability to create/plan your day, visit customers.
Where is the work:
This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule (3 or more days onsite per week). Work will be based out of our Chesapeake, VA office with local travel required.

What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology from a four-year college or university required.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in solutions sales.
- Communication and ability to build relationships, entrepreneurial drive, ability to “close”, organizational and time management skills.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including but not limited to:
- DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless / Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
- Ability to prove U.S. Employment eligibility without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
