Job Description
The Sales Manager will direct sales staff to manage leads, service new and established customers, increase sales, and improve overall customer experience to achieve sales objectives. You will represent our APG Canada West company and be an integral part to the success of our team.
Job Responsibilities
Lead sales team to create scalable growth and exceed targets year over year
Works with team to set schedules for sales and merchandising activity
Establish account territory alignment and create sales initiatives to market
Set short and long term sales goals for individuals and the team
Create and support individual development plans for team members
With assistance from HR, assist with recruitment, hiring, and terminations
Ensure that all reporting employees adhere to company policies and procedures
Maintain relationships with key accounts and market stakeholders
Support team with Time and Territory Management skills to effectively service key influencers to their business
Support sales team with monthly pipeline review and quarterly deep dive business
Monthly sales ride along with all direct reports
Hosts team meetings weekly
Prospect hardscape sales opportunities on a regular basis by leveraging existing relationships, reviewing industry lead sources, attending industry association and seminars
Profile potential customers, determine their propensity for our product line, identify competitive opportunities, create and follow an account plan for each client
May conduct or assist in information sessions (lunch 'n learns) promoting the use of our hardscape products to potential customers
Educate customers about our products, the performance characteristics of the product line and the value-added services that the company offers
Track won and lost orders, compiling reasons for success or loss through SalesForce.com
Collect feedback from customers and key industry contacts and share with sales team to improve sales process
Job Requirements
Minimum of 5+ years' experience in sales management
Previous sales experience (10+ years preferred)
Experience using Salesforce.com (CRM) is considered an asset
Post secondary education in a technical or business school
Understanding of the customer (design build) sales process
Develop and execute sales plans
Building materials or construction Product knowledge
Ability to deliver effective presentations
Excellent relationship management /communication skills both internally and externally
Excellent organizational and analytical skills
Ability to prioritize and problem solve
Objection handling skills
Motivate Sales Team through change management techniques
Compensation
Base salary is $105,000 - $120,000
Eligible for quarterly commissions
