Group Sales Manager (Hospitality)

Titan Hotel Group is a growing hotel management company. The Courtyard Southington and SpringHill Suites Cromwell are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Group Sales Manager.

This person will be responsible for booking all social groups and/or meetings from start to finish, assisting the Director of Sales in the overall sales effort of the hotel to achieve optimal occupancy and use, maximizing revenue and meeting/exceeding hotel profit objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Book all social groups and meetings for the properties.

· Proactive Selling – learning about the potential clients coming to the area and working hard to gain the business.

· Prospecting – solicit profitable new and repeat business from potential and existing accounts.

· Sales presentations – site inspections to local businesses and social groups.

· Event coordination – with both the clients and other departments.

· Follow up – on all groups and events that have taken place with a 48-hour period.

· Ensure guest satisfaction along with keeping with hotel profitability.

· Achieve group revenue goals given on a quarterly basis that are coinciding with the annual budget.

· Attend outside organizational meetings when requested.

· Answering phones; processing letters, proposals, and contracts accurately and in a timely manner.

· Maintain filing, tracking system and other office procedures.

· Participate in sales blitzes.

· Attend inhouse meetings as needed.

· Keep the Director of Sales and General Manager promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance.

· Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established Company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position.

· Maintain a favorable working relationship with all other Company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate.

· At all times, project a favorable image of our hotel to the public.

· Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.

· Attend Company sponsored functions.

· Assist with setup/teardown of meeting rooms as needed.

Position Experience and Requirements:

· A high school diploma or equivalent education/experience.

· 2 years of employment within the hospitality industry.

· Knowledge of Fosse, MARSHA, and STS are encouraged.

· Requires knowledge of Sales/Hospitality profession.

· Requires ability to make decisions and determine a course of action quickly.

· Must possess communication skills to negotiate, convince, sell, and influence other managerial personnel and clients.

· Must be able to work with and understand basic accounting and arithmetic functions.

· Requires ability to investigate and analyze current activities or information and make logical conclusions and recommendations.

· Must work well independently in a high-pressure environment.

Additional Expectations:

5. Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.

6. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 20 pounds without assistance.

7. This hotel operates seven (7) days a week and twenty- four (24) hours per day. All employees both management and hourly must realize this fact and be willing to hold a flexible schedule.
