COMPANY PROFILE
The Battery is San Francisco's unique modern-era private social club. The Battery houses seven bars and casual, yet stellar dining rooms serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. A work space, games room, library, green room, garden, private and Member event spaces, and breathtaking views of San Francisco add to the unique ambiance. The Battery offers dynamic Membership programming including frequent lecturers, eclectic performing arts, curated experiences, and excursions. The Club also houses The Battery Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization supported by our Members that has made more than $30 million in grants since its inception.
POSITION PROFILE
The Membership Manager is responsible for the overall operation of The Battery’s Membership body. Emphasis is on attaining The Battery’s goal of maximum engagement while providing Members and guests with the highest level of service. They will develop and manage a seamless application and onboarding program that marries high-touch hospitality with technological efficiency. Additionally, they will be responsible for maintaining all Member accounts, ensuring that Members are current in their payments and contact information. They will work with the Director of Membership, Programming Manager, and General Manager to create a high profile and quality perception in the marketplace. The Membership Manager will be an ambassador for The Battery, promoting, enhancing, and protecting the organization’s values, vision, and brand reputation both in electronic communication as well as on-the-floor presence.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

Account Management
- Manage all systems and processes relative to Member accounts, including, but not limited to: recruitment, applications, tours and open houses, acceptance, account creation, onboarding, payment, renewal, discipline, termination, and cancellation
- Maintain efficient and timely communication with Members, applicants, and general public via email and act as liaison between Members and the wider Battery team
- Responsible for forecasting Membership levels on a monthly and annual basis
- Manage all membership tracking documents, citing trends on renewals, acceptances, and cancellations
- Ensure payment methods are current and balances are cleared. Work directly with the Front Desk team to achieve a zero balance ledger
- Contact Members about discipline in conjunction with Director of Membership

Brand & Reputation
- Monitor private club competition and marketplace locally, nationally and globally to ensure The Battery is competitive in price and offerings
- Aid in the execution of communication strategies with the Director of Membership Operations so that The Battery brand is upheld
- Represent Club in community affairs and industry related events as needed
- Maintain active liaison with competitors regionally through personal contacts, Battery Alliance, and industry associations

Operations
- Liaison between Membership, Battery Staff, and Sonato OS developers to ensure Sonato OS is fitting the needs of Members and staff
- Full facilitation of our reciprocal program via Sonato Alliance or any other reciprocal program. Duties include: accepting visit requests, arranging reservations, and liaising with relative departments to deliver a seamless experience
- Manage the Hook Ups portion of the Fringe Benefits program, including vetting the offers and posting them to the website
- Host Ambassador Dinners and Happy Hours as needed
- Manage complaints and follow-up with necessary departments to rectify the situation
- Maintain flexible hours and schedule to ensure Members are greeted upon arrival at important club events
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Must have and be able to do all of the following
- Strong self-starter with natural curiosity to learn new skills and problem solve
- Excited to work with people and has natural extroverted tendencies
- Active presence on major social media platforms and experience with content creation
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Must have and be able to do all of the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, hospitality, or related experience preferred
- Ability to learn new software quickly and occasionally product manage software
- 5 years of experience in a luxury club, hotel, or hospitality industry setting
- Experience with P&L reports and working with budgets. Great knowledge of Excel or similar spreadsheet software a must.
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand English comprehensively
- Efficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Suite
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
You must have the physical, visual, and auditory ability to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations and be able to meet the following requirements:
- Must be able to maneuver through all areas of the property.
- Heavy Member/presenter contact is required.
- Must be able to tolerate varying noise levels, temperature, illumination and air quality.
- Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

- Must be able to respond to visual or aural cues.
- Continuously or periodically bend, twist, lean, lift, push, pull, kneel, bend, walk, stand, and/or sit up to 8+ hours per shift.

Salary: $90,000
