General Function

The Marketing Manager is responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing marketing programs that target specific segments and accounts. Specifically, this role will be responsible for our System Solutions and Broadcast sales divisions. This position will work with other teams to create integrated marketing campaigns that prioritize customer and partner needs.

This role will implement product plans including pricing, promotions, and co-op programs for their assigned market segment and develop placement strategies to help foster and grow their assigned sales channel with the goal to build brand awareness and increase product sales.

This position requires performing the following responsibilities with minimal supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Works with cross functional teams to develop, coordinate and execute marketing projects related to our System Solutions and Broadcast products, including the following:

  • Provides monthly marketing recap for inclusion in the marketing newsletter.
  • Creates and maintains marketing calendar for the markets assigned.
  • Creates Marketing Communications Requests (MCRs), as assigned, for POP, key dealer ad requests, price addendums and other marketing needs. Includes assembling information and monitoring project progress from inception to completion.
  • Coordinates with product development department to create and distribute product launch packs for internal and external use.
  • Manages, plans and tracks marketing focus, media, budgets and scheduling for key accounts with appropriate sales manager. Develop yearly sales promotion strategy.
  • Support NY Marketing Salon strategy.
  • Performs marketing audits with key accounts to verify messaging is on target.
  • Creates reports from enterprise system and point of sale software and analyzes data to identify sales and marketing opportunities that will increase the placement and sales performance of Audio-Technica products.
  • Monitors and reports on relevant marketing and department budgets.
  • Researches and creates competitive marketing intelligence reports as needed.
  • Manages sponsorships within the market segment.
  • Creates, conducts, and reports on internal and external marketing research.
  • Coordinates marketing “in-service” training for various departments to disseminate information on marketing promotions or product training.
  • Drives marketing message/promotions to dealer level to facilitate and ensure compliance and implementation.
  • Identifies and coordinates opportunities for press releases and other communications such as blogs, articles, reviews, etc.
  • Coordinates, facilitates, and maintains market related rebate promotions.
  • Assists with regional and national tradeshows as needed.
  • Manages organizes and tracks apparel and swag budgets and selection.
  • Handles miscellaneous administrative responsibilities as needed in the Marketing Department. Duties include packaging and documenting domestic & overseas shipments; distributing mail; and other duties as assigned.

Skills and knowledge:

  • Industry Knowledge: A personal or technical background in commercial professional or consumer audio/electronics preferred.
  • Market Analysis: Ability to conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify key trends, opportunities, and challenges within specific segments of the market.
  • Strategic Thinking: Capacity to develop and execute strategic plans tailored to target specific market segments, including positioning, messaging, and promotional tactics.
  • Customer Insights: Proficiency in gathering and interpreting customer data and insights to understand segment needs, preferences, and behaviors.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills to effectively convey marketing strategies, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Product Knowledge: Understanding of the company's products or services and how they align with the needs and preferences of different market segments.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, metrics, and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns targeting specific segments and make data-driven decisions.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Capacity to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, product development, and marketing, to ensure alignment and successful execution of segment-specific strategies.
  • Project Management: Proficiency in managing multiple projects simultaneously, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines within a fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing market conditions, consumer trends, and competitive landscapes to adjust strategies and tactics accordingly.
  • Innovation: Willingness to explore new ideas, approaches, and technologies to differentiate the company's offerings and drive growth within targeted market segments.
  • Occasional Travel: Willingness and ability to travel required.

Education and Experience:

  • College degree in Marketing, Communications, Business and/or related field is required.
  • Five years of marketing experience in an audio, technical or similar discipline
  • Proven experience in segmenting markets, identifying target segments, and developing tailored marketing strategies to address their needs and preferences.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive results and achieve marketing objectives within assigned market segments, such as revenue growth, market share expansion, or customer acquisition and retention targets.
  • Experience managing marketing projects from conception to execution, including setting goals, establishing timelines, and managing resources effectively.
  • A track record of putting the customer at the center of marketing strategies and initiatives, with a focus on delivering value and enhancing customer experiences.
