Summary
The Business Development Representative is a strategic role in support of the NORTH BAY DISTRIBUTION Sales and Marketing strategy for new business development. The BDR role at NORTH BAY DISTRIBUTION will be involved in finding new leads by making outbound calls, managing personalized email and phone call-based campaigns, supporting live events, receiving inbound leads, and sharing new ideas with both the internal and the external partners which they will meet.
Reporting to the CRO, the BDR will become an important part of our exciting and collaborative culture helping customers improve their omnichannel fulfillment. We’re looking for curious minds that have a “Team First” attitude where possibilities for learning new things will be the norm.
Job Duties
· Qualify leads from marketing campaigns as sales opportunities.
· Work with Sales Reps and Marketing to develop target account strategy.
· Identifying decision makers within targeted leads to begin outbound prospecting campaigns.
· Create and deliver qualified opportunities to Sales Reps.
· Maintain and expand the company’s database of prospects.
· Ensure follow-up by passing leads to Sales Reps with calls-to-action, dates, business drivers, complete profile information, sources, and so on.
· Where necessary, support marketing efforts such as trade shows, exhibits, outbound and inbound campaigns, and other events.
· Make outbound follow-up calls to existing customers via telephone and e-mail cross-sell and up-sell.
· Handle inbound leads and convert them into qualified opportunities.
· Enter new customer data and update changes to existing accounts in the corporate database.
· Attending periodic sales training where applicable.
· Appropriately communicate brand identity and corporate position.
Requirements
· Proven work experience as a Business Development Representative.
· Demonstrated ability to convert prospects to new opportunities and customers.
· Solid experience in opportunity qualification, pre-call planning, call control, account development, and time management.
· Success in qualifying opportunities involving multiple key decision makers.
· Strong problem identification and objection resolution skills.
· Exceptional verbal communication and presentation skills.
· Excellent listening skills.
· Strong written communication skills.
· Self-motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm.
· Ability to occasionally travel and attend sales events or exhibits.
· Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
· High level of integrity and work ethic.
· Understanding of sales performance metrics.
· Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques and methodologies.
· Track record of achieving lead generation quotas.
· Experience with customer relationship management software, preferably HubSpot and other sales enablement technologies.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
· Experience working in the logistics, warehousing, or transportation sectors is a plus.
· Familiarity with sales techniques, including cold calling, social selling, and consultative selling approaches.
· Experience using tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator, HubSpot, or similar lead generation platforms.
· Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets in a dynamic and competitive environment.
