The International Regional Sales Manager, Asia Pacific, has primary responsibility for profitably meeting international sales forecasts and goals for specific territories; established by the Director, International Business Development in conjunction with the Vice President, Sales & Marketing. International travel will include Asia (Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Philippines, Australia & New Zeland

Market responsibilities include Industrial, Law Enforcement, Federal/Military, Fire/EMS, Automotive, and Sporting Goods. Primary role is to develop and build distribution within these markets, as well as end-user activity to drive demand for Streamlight products. Additionally, this position will provide input on international cultural and legal issues as they pertain to sales and distribution development as well as marketing activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Develop and execute annual sales Action Plan for specific geographic territories assigned

2. Evaluate and monitor company’s distribution structure for territory and make recommendations for improvement.

3. Set goals and monitor individual target distributor performance within annual Action Plan.

4. Work directly with key end users in various industries (Automotive, Fire, Industrial, Law Enforcement and Military Markets primarily) within the territory/region to develop opportunities and the demand for products which meet the specifications of Streamlight’s product offering.

5. Execute and evaluate trade show participation for International Division on an annual basis in European markets.

6. Develop key relationships with international customers and end users in assigned regions of the world.

7. Coordinate with Director of Product Management in seeking new product ideas from international/global perspective. Particular emphasis to be paid to developing products that potentially meet multiple international standards for the Automotive, Fire, EMS, Industrial, Law Enforcement and Military markets.

8. Work with Inside Sales Manager to train and develop inside sales staff and channels group to continually improve interface between all facets of company and international customer base.

9. Gain understanding of international product standards and organizations (e.g., ATEX, IECEx, German DIN committee, ROHS, CE) that impact company’s market position.

10. Documentation of activities and opportunities in Streamlight’s CRM(SalesForce.com)

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

1. Ability to communicate in multi-cultural environment with existing and potential new customers around the world.

2. Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field

3. Fluent in English; some knowledge of Japanese.

4. Must be experienced in and able to travel internationally within Asia, Australia and New Zealand on potentially a monthly basis.

5. Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience including direct experience in international sales management preferred within the automotive, industrial, Fire/EMS, Law Enforcement and Military markets.

6. Preferred experience working with U.S. based manufacturer(s)

7. Experience with export license requirements of U.S. Dept. of Commerce and U.S. Department of State

8. Working knowledge of import requirements, duties and taxes for the Asia Pacific Region.

10. Experience with government tender process for federal entities and local agencies.

11. Knowledge of international channels of distribution in a variety of markets, preferably in areas of: general industrial, fire service, Emergency Services, professional automotive, law enforcement and military.

12. Experience using CRM program(s) for documenting sales activity, information, and opportunities.

13. Valid Passport required.

Location: The preferred location for this position is Seattle, Washington or Phoenix, Arizona metropolitan areas.

Compensation package:

  • Bonus opportunities

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Travel requirement:

  • Up to 50% travel
