Solutions Engineer

Summary

Team of 50+ personnel developing and maintaining IT services to support Defense Health Agency (DHA) private-sector healthcare claims processing. This Solutions Architect (SA) will report to a project manager to design, develop, and deploy protype solutions integrating new software and AWS GovCloud services with existing VM-based applications and Oracle databases. Projects include replacing existing software products, developing new applications, improving resiliency, and migrating to additional cloud-native services. Candidates local to Aurora, Colorado, are desired for a hybrid work schedule. Fully remote candidates will be considered.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Leads and coordinates technical activities to deploy prototype solutions for prioritized business projects

• Collaborates with IT staff, project managers, application users, and customer representatives to analyze and understand requirements and constraints

• Follows program development, testing, and support methodologies

• Supports and promotes program cybersecurity posture through DHA RMF compliance including applicable STIG configurations

• Follows current and planned enterprise architecture vision and roadmap

• Prepares design documents, presentations, and drawings as required

• Communicates technical progress to project leadership and others as assigned

• Assumes responsibility for adjusting to priority changes and clarifying unclear tasks

Qualifications and Skills

Required

• 5 years implementing solutions in AWS; GovCloud desired

• Using or administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Microsoft Windows operating systems

• Integrating or administering Oracle products: Database, E-Business Suite, Analytics

• Using Git-based source code control; GitLab desired

• Evaluating and implementing STIG configurations to comply with DoD RMF requirements

• Possessing active CompTIA Security+ certification or commit to obtaining within 6 months of start date

Desired

• Implementing or administering high-availability data synchronization or replication; Oracle Data Guard desired

• Developing or administering web applications; HTML, PHP, ColdFusion, JavaScript desired

• Developing or administering application lifecycle management automation; Solutions Business Manager (SBM), ALM/Quality Center, Jira, GitLab

• Administering Microsoft Office365 or automating workflows, including Teams or SharePoint

• Migrating from legacy waterfall to agile DevOps/DevSecOps including Kubernetes containers and GitLab-based CI/CD pipelines

• Integrating or administering a variety of COTS applications

• Possessing AWS Certified Practitioner, Architect, or Engineer certification or commit to obtaining within 6 months of start date

The proposed salary range for this position in Colorado is 125,000 to 140,000. Final salary will be determined based on various factors.
