You will join the foundation at an exciting time, with the opportunity to make a transformational impact. The foundation is in the public phase of a historic campaign to raise $3 billion to build a better future for Nebraska. The campaign is being led by many enthusiastic volunteers representing all areas of the University of Nebraska System. This position will be fully remote working from Los Angeles or surrounding areas.

Ways you will make an impact:

  • Represent all campuses of the University of Nebraska system in the Los Angeles region building a vibrant and engaged philanthropic community in California.
  • Qualify, cultivate, and solicit prospective donors with a specific focus on securing major gifts for the Los Angeles region.
  • Develop and implement a strategy for partnerships with unit-based and/or central development colleagues focused on building community partnerships.
  • Engage prospects via substantive in-person visits and remote contact, leveraging video technology to enhance connections and major gifts back to the University of Nebraska.
  • Partner on market-specific events and small group engagements with advancement colleagues that support donor cultivation, qualification, and stewardship efforts.
  • Build comprehensive knowledge of top donors, prospects, university/unit activity, and development opportunities in assigned markets.

What you need:

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum Experience: 1-3 or 3+ years’ experience in development, communications, sales, account management, talent acquisition or a related field. Preferred Experience/Qualifications: Experience in higher education fundraising as a student or professional and a personal or academic connection to the state of Nebraska.
  • Demonstrated success in the solicitation of annual and major gifts, or transferable skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills across mediums.
  • Strong collaboration and organizational skills, as well as the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Able to manage confidential material responsibly and interact professionally with a wide spectrum of individuals.

What we offer (Compensation and Benefits):

  • This is a full-time position offered at a range of $90,000 to $135,000 per year with an attractive benefits package as outlined below or on our website (https://nufoundation.org/careers/). The salary range listed encompasses several factors including experience, qualifications, market considerations, and geographic location.
  • 12 weeks of paid medical leave, including maternity and paternity leave.
