Job Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Vice President of Sales to lead our market development initiatives within the construction materials sector. In this senior executive role, you will be responsible for driving substantial sales growth through targeted market penetration strategies and identifying new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the construction materials industry, a proven track record in client acquisition, and exceptional leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities
Market Development
Lead efforts to identify and assess new market opportunities, including emerging sectors and geographic regions. Develop and implement strategic plans to penetrate these markets, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and maximizing revenue potential.
Sales Strategy Execution
Design and implement proactive sales strategies that prioritize the acquisition of new clients and the expansion of our customer base. Build and maintain a robust pipeline of potential clients through networking, prospecting, and strategic outreach.
Sales Performance Monitoring
Continuously analyze sales performance metrics, market trends, and competitive landscapes. Utilize data-driven insights to refine strategies and inform senior management of potential growth opportunities.
Client Relationship Management
Establish and nurture strong relationships with key clients, contractors, and industry stakeholders. Engage in regular communication to understand client needs, challenges, and goals. Serve as a trusted advisor, providing tailored solutions that address specific client requirements while promoting our product offerings.
Business Relationship Building
Proactively develop and strengthen long-term business relationships across various levels of client organizations. Foster partnerships that enhance mutual value and collaboration, leveraging industry connections to create new opportunities. Attend industry events and networking functions to expand the company’s reach and visibility in the market.
Industry Representation
Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to enhance brand visibility and establish key industry relationships. Engage with industry organizations and stakeholders to position the company as a thought leader in the construction materials sector.
Team Leadership and Development
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team, providing guidance in effective sales techniques and strategic initiatives. Cultivate a results-oriented culture that encourages accountability, collaboration, and exceptional performance.

What do you bring?
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related discipline; an MBA is an asset.
Experience:
A minimum of 10 to 15 years of sales experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role focused on client acquisition within the construction materials industry.
Proven track record of successfully securing new clients and driving significant revenue growth through strategic market development initiatives.
Skills:
- Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical capabilities, with a demonstrated ability to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities.
- Proven expertise in advanced sales techniques, including prospecting, relationship building, and closing complex deals.
- Strong leadership qualities, with a history of inspiring and motivating sales teams to achieve ambitious targets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, adept at building relationships at all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and adapt to evolving market conditions.

- Bilingualism (French & English) is required, as the position involves serving a national clientele, travelling, and participating in workshops/training/partners meetings in Canada & the USA.
This role could require up to 50% of travel in Canada & US territory visits, trade shows & conferences.
