Position Overview:
As the Technical Sales Engineer, you will be instrumental in driving revenue growth, managing the customer journey, and acting as the go-to technical expert for our precision grinding and machine tool solutions. This role requires a dynamic individual who can identify new opportunities, engage customers, and collaborate with internal teams to deliver tailored, high-quality solutions. You’ll play a key role in growing our customer base and ensuring satisfaction from initial contact through delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Revenue Management: Lead order intake for our grinding technologies division, driving alignment with sales targets.
  • Technical Expertise: Act as the primary technical advisor for equipment and service quotations, with a focus on manufacturing technology and machining capabilities.
  • Sales Process Facilitation: Collaborate with Regional Sales, Product Management, Engineering, and Operations to generate accurate quotes and develop custom solutions.
  • Customer Engagement: Conduct feasibility and sampling studies, present findings, and foster strong, lasting client relationships.
  • Quote Management: Configure machine and application-specific tooling solutions, ensuring timely and accurate quote generation.
  • Lead Development: Work closely with the sales team to identify new customer leads, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Sales Support: Actively promote machine service contracts and manage quotes for both standard and custom part numbers.
  • Process Improvement: Document sales and customer service operations to streamline efficiency.
  • Issue Resolution: Address potential manufacturing or delivery delays, communicating effectively with clients as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in technical sales, ideally within precision grinding or machine tool industries.
  • Skills:
    • Advanced problem-solving, customer service, and project management skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with strong communication abilities.
    • Salesforce CRM expertise for lead, opportunity, and customer data management.
    • Hands-on experience in machining, tooling, and grinding is essential.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. and work while standing or sitting for extended periods.

Working Conditions:
This is primarily an office-based role but requires frequent travel for client visits and trade shows (both domestically and internationally). Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be needed to meet project deadlines.
