Job Description

The ALC DDC Controls Sales Engineer will be responsible for existing customers and shall provide consultative selling services to customers and proposals for new projects, renovations and needed service work and or service agreements. The Sales Engineer will be given a geographic territory of Middle and Upper Alabama to prospect new customers with needs for HVAC Controls, Building Automation Systems and will conduct product demonstrations as well as work with Consulting Engineers and Mechanical Contractors when estimating and specifying projects. Factory and in-house training will be made available for this new position as well as mentoring and guidance from long-time inhouse sales staff.

This position will be eligible for sales incentive on each project sold. Incentives are paid based upon gross margin with escalating amounts earned as margin percentage increases.

Sales Engineer will be assigned Company vehicle, laptop, company card and expense account. Job does require a pre-employment drug screen and a valid motor vehicle license to operate the Company vehicle.

QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, EXPERIENCE):

  • High School graduate plus industry related technical courses with 1-2 years of HVAC/Controls experience with BAS/DDC products or in the mechanical or electrical contracting trades.
  • Knowledgeable in DDC control theory.
  • B2B Sales Experience preferably in a consultative sales role.
  • Skilled in use of personal computer with software Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with the Automated Logic product line is a plus.
  • Knowledgeable in construction contracting industry with specific emphasis in mechanical and/or electrical fields.
  • Able to visit job construction hard hat areas and climb stairs, maneuver in and around pipework and air ducts and work safely in close proximity to exposed line voltage and low voltage wiring and terminations.
  • Possesses a valid state motor vehicle license and possess safe driving record as required by company’s insurance carrier.
  • Willing to participate in and support a company drug free workplace program.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
