District Sales Manager

Fidia Pharma US is looking for a dynamic District Sales Manager to work for one of the fast-growing medical device companies. Responsible for building the business within a given geographical territory targeting physicians, hospitals, VA and ambulatory care centers/private clinics, corporate-owned clinics, and specialty pharmacies in the Orthopedic, Rheumatology, and Sports Medicine community by performing the following duties.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overall staff supervision and management within a given district
  • Thorough understanding of the Pharmaceutical Industry, account management, reimbursement/market access, and marketing concepts related to the promotion of our full product portfolio
  • Maintain a fully staffed and productive district, by managing vacancies and turnover through active involvement in the recruitment and selection process.
  • Will be responsible for account management and calls on key accounts to build and grow the business
  • Lead sales representatives to grow and protect existing accounts while executing a plan to convert new accounts to build and expand the overall Fidia business.
  • Accountability for district sales and margin objectives.
  • Manages complex reimbursement issues related to injectable product(s) and offers effective solutions and suggestions to providers
  • Possess solid knowledge and understanding of all assigned products, disease states, treatment regimens, managed care, competitor products, market and industry
  • Lead district conference calls
  • Provide direction and oversight to the assigned sales representatives to ensure assigned sales goals are attained.
  • Maintain current and competent working knowledge of the product line to educate customers and increase customer’s likeliness to purchase the product portfolio
  • Conduct and provide meaningful field evaluations and complete necessary call reports, including a record of the call and weekly call reports, other paperwork, and expense reports within specified timeframes
  • Manage administrative responsibilities related to the direction and performance of the assigned district.
  • Manage representative call expectations for required face-to-face calls
  • Proactively identify problems/opportunities and solutions for process/performance improvement.
  • Build strong relationships with employees and customers
  • Follow and implement all company policies regarding travel, expenses, meetings, and meals

  • Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college/university required
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of pharmaceutical/biotech/Medical Device sales and account management experience with a minimum of 3-5 years of pharmaceutical, Biotech, or Medical Device DM sales management experience
  • Solid knowledge of J Code reimbursement and managed care
  • Experience in Orthopedics, Rheumatology, Physiatrists, and Specialty Biologics markets strongly preferred
  • A documented record of proven sales success, with national rankings in the top 30% highly desired
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Must possess persuasive communication skills, a fortitude to sell and compete, and be a self-starter
  • Pro-active, action-oriented self-starter who is highly motivated and has the ability to deliver results independently yet partner as a leader of a team
  • Strong planning, organizational, and PC skills
  • Must be willing to travel over a relatively large geography, which will include daily and overnight travel up to 50-75%
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to drive for extended periods of time in a company-provided midsize sedan. Must be able to lift cases of product promotional materials weighing between 10 and 20 pounds.
