The Unmanned Systems & Simulated Training Director is a key member of the high growth markets team across both federal and municipal territories. This position is responsible for developing and executing channel and customer strategies to aggressively grow our customer base and increase the value of our service offering. In this role, they will lead their team to achieve sales and operating profit objectives within the scope of the business strategy. This individual will establish and maintain robust industry familiarity and relationships in order to gain an authoritative understanding of sales and marketing opportunities with the Unmanned Systems & Simulated Training categories.

Darley Defense, a division of the W.S. Darley company, specializes in using existing contracts to distribute products and services to the Federal Government. Darley Defense specializes in special operational equipment and fire and emergency services.

Requirements:

Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve the Business Unit’s mission and objectives and to promote revenue, profitability, and growth within Darley.

  • Identify new and relevant capabilities that fit within the Darley growth plan
  • Structure and implement successful dealer programs with suppliers
  • Oversee operational aspects of the dealer agreement to include demonstration capability, lead management, inventory management, and aftermarket support
  • Attend routine sales meetings hosted by the vertical sales leads and provide relevant input
  • Determine how new technologies can integrate with existing technologies and enhance the customers’ solution set
  • Review and analyze performance objectives, and make necessary adjustments to remain on plan

Establish and execute on sales and marketing strategies for key partners that facilitate growth

  • Assist with the production of marketing brochures and other collateral
  • Provide input for supplier promotions on social media and e-commerce platforms
  • Participate in industry trade functions to stay abreast of market changes and opportunities
  • Coordinate supplier involvement in Darley trade show booth displays and marketing collateral
  • Provide support for Business Development and Sales team in the field when necessary

Personnel Development

  • Provide oversight and direction to direct reports
  • Coach, mentor, and develop direct reports
  • Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity with team and other teams within the organization

Supervisory Responsibility

This individual would oversee our Operations Manager and Sales Engineers.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred

Experience

  • Federal contracting experience
  • Unmanned Systems and/or Simulated Training industry experience
  • Corporate business experience
  • Managerial experience
  • Account management experience
  • Sales/BD experience
  • Military or First Responder experience preferred
