Purpose of the Job:

Overall responsibility for managing sales and marketing strategies for an expanding independent manufacturer's representative agency in the hardware, home improvement, industrial and paint markets, including identifying and developing areas of sales growth and profit enhancement over the short, medium and long term.

Key Responsibilities: This self-motivated individual will provide support for, but not limited to, the following areas:

  • Along with the business leader, establish goals to ensure achievement of market-share objectives and profitability plans.
  • Drive incremental sales growth through expansion of existing business and new account acquisition.
  • Implement marketing plans and programs to ensure achievement of financial objectives of our mfg. partners.
  • Provide market intelligence.
  • Collaborate in preparation of customer presentations, including the annual strategic business and marketing plans where required.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers creating a collaborative selling environment
  • Provide appropriate training and instruction on products
  • Interact with other business professionals within the organization.
  • Supports corporate initiatives and projects as necessary.

Experience & Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Exceptional Hardware/Home Improvement background considered
  • 5 to 10 years of business experience in planning and sales in the channels we service.
  • Demonstrated experience and execution in achievement of market share growth and profitability improvement.
  • Experience selling into accounts such as but not limited to: Bi Mart, Jerry's, Diamond Home, Sherwin Williams, Rhodda Paint, White Cap etc…

Computer Skills:

  • Strong capability in Windows based applications, particularly MS Excel

Special Requirements:

  • Willingness for overnight travel required approximately 10- 15% within the territory/account assignments and up to 50% during spring and fall selling shows (February/March) & August/September
  • Valid Driver's License (Car Allowance given)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
