THE ROLE
Position: Accounting Clerk
Reports To: Director of Finance

POSITION PROFILE:
Assist with the recording, storing, access, and/or analyzing of computerized financial information to include assisting with accounts payable and/or accounts receivable functions.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION:
- Check figures, postings, and documents for accuracy.
- Organize, secure, and maintain all files, records, cash and cash equivalents in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Classify, code, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using journals, ledgers, and/or computers.
- Prepare, maintain, audit, and distribute statistical, financial, accounting, auditing, or payroll reports and tables.
- Complete period-end closing procedures and reports as specified.
- Prepare, review, reconcile, and issue bills, invoices, and account statements according to company procedures.
- Follow-up and resolve past due accounts and vendor invoices until payment in full is received or resolved.
- Prepare daily consolidated deposits of cash received by all cash handling employees.
- Document, maintain, communicate, and act upon all cash variances.
- Data entry of invoice details.
- Process and mail checks.
- Correspondence with vendors.
- Prepare, maintain, and administer all cashier banks and contracts.
- May handle the accounts receivable function and perform the hotel's credit/collection and food & beverage control function to ensure accurate, timely and quality service and support to hotel guests and management
- Promptly follows-up on all customer needs and inquiries in an efficient and expedient manner.
- Investigate, resolve, respond to guest needs, inquires, comments and/or problems to ensure a quality experience and enhance future sales prospects.
DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Two to four-year college degree or equivalent education/experience.
Experience: A minimum of two years’ experience in a related position. Hotel experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities: Ability to perform critical analysis and manage wide-range of information. Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the finance and hospitality professions. Requires ability to investigate and analyze current activities or information and indicate logical conclusions and recommendations based on established policies and procedures. Excellent oral, written, and listening skills sufficient to produce communication that properly reflect the Foundation Image. Communicate to both, guests and fellow associates, professionally and positively.
