About the Opportunity

We are looking for a Business Broker with an M&A background to join the team at Flippa, reporting directly to our Commercial Director of Sales. With our Series A capital raise led by OneVentures and supported by some of Australia’s best entrepreneurs we are accelerating our growth and scaling our platform.

This is an exciting role where you will be responsible for identifying and generating new business opportunities for Flippa. Utilizing various methods such as, but not limited to, cold calling, email campaigns, in-person visits, and various networking opportunities, you will own Flippa’s full sales cycle from winning listings to matching high quality business owners with acquisition fit buyers through to a sale. This role is best suited for those with a hunter mentality.

As the Business Broker at Flippa, you’ll get to -

  • Hunt for new business opportunities
  • Win listings to the Flippa platform and manage them through to sale
  • Conduct research to identify new markets and prospect
  • Arrange business meetings with prospective clients
  • Promote the company’s products/services addressing prospects objectives
  • Maintain CRM hygiene
  • Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers
  • Cultivate relationships within private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, corporations, family offices, and among individual entrepreneurs
  • Gather crucial information about potential businesses from prospective clients
  • Conduct a thorough analysis of financials, metrics, and operational data provided by clients
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and various internal teams within Flippa to create and present comprehensive analyses and presentations aimed at persuading clients to engage Flippa for proposed transactions
  • Assist the Commercial Director or other senior professionals at Flippa in presenting new business proposals to both existing and prospective clients
  • Take the lead in crafting marketing materials that facilitate client understanding of Flippa's products, services, qualifications, areas of expertise, and operational processes
  • Participate in the preparation of basic legal documents required for the onboarding process
  • Identify potential new clients, including those not currently connected with Flippa
  • Offer expert advice to clients on the strategic and financial aspects of transactions
  • Negotiate optimal terms and conditions on behalf of clients for proposed transactions
  • Provide comprehensive guidance and support to clients throughout the transaction process

  • Understanding the product or service thoroughly to help communicate value to potential customers

  • Awareness of the market, industry trends, and competitors is essential for targeting the right prospects and staying ahead in the market
  • Sales hunters often work independently. Having self-motivation and a proactive attitude is essential for consistently achieving targets
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are vital for conveying information clearly and persuasively to potential clients
  • Prospects often need to be convinced about the value proposition. Strong negotiation skills are essential for closing deals
  • Being able to listen actively to prospects’ needs and concerns helps in tailoring the sales pitch to address their specific requirements
  • Prioritizing leads and managing time effectively is crucial for maximizing productivity and reaching out to a larger pool of prospects
  • Confidence in oneself, the product, and the company builds trust and credibility with potential clients
  • The ability to think on one’s feet and provide innovative solutions to potential clients’ problems can set a prospector apart
  • Building and maintaining a professional network can provide a continuous stream of leads and referrals
  • Familiarity with sales and Hubspot, or similar CRM, helps in organizing leads, tracking interactions, and managing follow-ups efficiently
  • The ability to adapt sales strategies based on feedback and changing market conditions is crucial for long-term success
  • Being able to analyze data, sales metrics, and prospect behavior can provide valuable insights for refining sales strategies.
  • Putting the customer's needs first and striving to provide exceptional service creates a positive customer experience and fosters loyalty
