Reporting to the CEO and VP of Operations, the Business Development Manager occupies a critical position enabling the organization to achieve its sales objectives.
The desired candidate is ambitious, eager for success, can maintain and coordinate interprovincial sales operations, a multi-site team and demonstrates a passion for the building supplies industry.
Profit driven, results oriented and leading by example, the candidate can use their strong background in sales, relationship building and people management to recruit, train, stimulate and develop a small team dealing with daily tasks.
We carry a wide range of products and have been given exclusive rights to a new and exciting line of decking that already has significant established sales in the USA and Alberta.
Channels for Business development will include an in-house retail/contractor yard, Building Supply Stores, Architects and Regional Distributors of Building Supplies.\
$70,000 - $75,000 base plus commissions.
Duties
- Demonstrate daily leadership skills to build and support the sales team.
- Proactively attain product knowledge and market awareness and communicate pertinent changes to staff and customers.
- Implement sales strategies to increase stores sales.
- Pursue business development and profitability.
- Develop commercial sales.
- Sales oriented, he can develop relationships with customers and business partners.
- Develop sales performance reports.
- Easy to work with and collaborative to facilitate efficient communication.
- Follow his team performances and manage accordingly.
- Do monthly benchmark to stay ahead of the competition.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of senior sales management position.
- Experience in retail management considered an asset.
- Minimum 3 years in the Lumber industry or other industry related to Building Supplies.
- Must have delivered concrete results in sales, merchandising and marketing.
- Must have delivered concrete results in terms of sales growth and profitability.
- Must have the ability to work in an organized manner, have a work ethic where judgment, logical reasoning and initiative are advocated and used daily.
- Must have a general product knowledge and have the ability to transmit it to their team.
- Must be able to adapt to changes, delays and unforeseen events in a positive and professional manner.
