A leader in the Automatic Temperature Controls industry is seeking an HVAC Controls Sales Engineer. This is an industry leading company near Richmond, VA with advancement opportunities for engaged employees driven by the desire to succeed professionally and provide excellent customer service.
To be successful in this role, you will be responsible for generating controls revenue and meeting margin goals by supporting the company's mission of delivering exceptional customer service through the sale and execution of projects involving HVAC equipment and controls systems. You will be tasked with identifying and selling HVAC and automation solutions that will help the client achieve their environmental, operational, and financial goals.

Essential Duties:
- Independently acquire new leads and follow through with leads given
- Gain in-depth understanding of company offerings
- Develop a marketing plan to achieve sales targets
- Give sales presentations to potential clients
- Lead or support coordinated sales efforts with other departments
- Coordinate and attend site reviews
- Periodically develop project estimates for opportunities not involving design documents.
- Confirm project scope and bill of material with customers.
- Resolve deviations in scope with the client to preserve client experience and satisfaction.
- Determine recommended selling strategy and initial pricing.
- Present the proposal and negotiate price and contract terms and conditions with customers.
- Maintain a working knowledge of current local utility incentive programs and leverage rebates to improve project closure rate and margins.
- Follow up with buying influences to secure orders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in a technical or business-related field, MBA preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in HVAC Controls Sales, Engineering or Marketing.
- CEM, LEED AP, PE accreditations or certificates preferred.
- Excellent oral/written communication skills.
- Ability to travel within a defined region at least 20% of the time.
- Ability to function independently and deliver results.
