The Sr. Account Manager serves as the primary point of contact for a block of accounts that includes small to large, multi-state, multi-site clients held by a senior member of our leadership team. This person will work closely with benefits consultants, internal service teams and other account managers to meet and exceed client expectations. The lines of coverage include: Medical, Dental, Vision, Spending Accounts, Group Life and AD&D insurance, disability, and voluntary benefits.

Job Responsibilities

  • Works closely with Benefits Consultant to coordinate and negotiate renewal; communicates clients’ needs, issues, risks, and opportunities; prepares renewal for client presentations.
  • Collaborates with Benefits Consultant on overall account strategy including the ways to identify up-sell/cross-sell opportunities; builds re-enrollment strategies for the clients.
  • Develops employee communication and enrollment materials for client distribution.
  • Responsible for oversight, monitoring and compliance with any performance guarantees on assigned cases.
  • Understands, interprets, and clearly delivers financial and claims experience reporting and data to clients.
  • Acts as escalation point for resolution of non-routine issues. Identifies root cause and communicates resolution to client.
  • Understands client business, issues, and needs through proactive face-to-face (when appropriate) client visits and proactive phone contact; builds, maintains, and manages positive ongoing client relationships.
  • Oversees client's benefits accounts, including but not limited to, new development, internal and external communication, support, and maintenance issues.
  • Other projects, tasks or special assignments as requested.

Required Job Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience working in the group insurance industry with current Life and Health Insurance License
  • Knowledge of Medical, Dental and Vision insurance products, plan designs, contracts, and services.
  • Thorough knowledge of financing methodologies and strategies (fully insured, alternate funded)
  • Experience consulting with clients including negotiation, persuasion and influencing; ability to influence others without specific authority.
  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships at all levels internally and externally.
  • Values a high level of customer service with the ability to balance client satisfaction and the needs of the business.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills
  • Naturally a proactive thinker, communicator, and planner
  • Possesses financial aptitude/analytical skills.
  • Technical aptitude to work within carrier portals, help lead HRIS/HCM builds, maintain and navigate databases, and manipulate spreadsheets with large data sets.
  • Ability to maintain composure and effectiveness under pressure in a deadline driven industry.
  • Goal oriented; meet persistency goals, renewal goals, etc.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Represent Creative Benefits, Inc. in a professional manner

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Has knowledge of the Ancillary insurance products including Group Life and AD&D insurance, disability and voluntary benefits
  • Previous experience working with large, multi-state, multi-site clients.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience working with HRIS systems or Payroll systems.
  • Experience analyzing claims and financial data sets.
  • Experience managing a team directly or indirectly leading others.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have any direct reports but could possibly require the training and mentoring of more junior team members.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, phones and photocopiers.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. Must be able to lift 25 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

Travel is occasional and primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.

Base pay is anticipated to start at $65,000. Compensation may vary based on a variety of factors such as, but not limited to, individual skills, experience, training and education/certifications.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
