Job Description

ABOUT US

We are Seattle Cider Company, crafters of award-winning cider in Seattle’s Sodo neighborhood. We work hard, play hard, and enjoy nothing more than kicking back with a pint after hours in our on-site tasting room.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Purchasing and Logistics Coordinator focuses on the core responsibilities crucial to our operations' smooth functioning. This role centers on the diligent maintenance of supplier relationships to ensure a consistent and reliable flow of materials. The coordinator guarantees the prompt and accurate delivery of products, playing a pivotal part in our supply chain's efficiency. Additionally, this position requires a strategic coordination between sales and production departments to fulfill orders accurately and maintain optimal inventory levels. With an emphasis on cross-departmental collaboration, the Purchasing and Logistics Coordinator ensures that all parts of our company work in tandem to meet our operational goals, contributing significantly to our overall success.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Maintain an efficient supply-chain infrastructure to ensure on-time arrival of high-quality and competitively priced supplies.

· Create purchase orders for ingredients, packaging, and other production supplies.

· Coordinate with department leads (Director of Sales, Operations Manager, Head Cidermaker, Packaging & Warehouse Supervisor, Marketing and PR Manager, Tasting Room Manager) to ensure that supply levels are in sync with production schedule.

· Assure that all products are shipped safely, on time, and in a cost-effective manner.

· Secure and analyze price quotes, leverage pricing/terms with suppliers, and seek out additional/new suppliers in an effort to maintain the highest possible quality at the lowest possible cost.

· Foster supplier relationships using clear and concise communication and, when necessary, by visiting suppliers’ locations.

· Assist in the resolution of production, quality and/or delivery problems.

· Maintain accurate records in ERP software (EKOS), so that all cost structures, and COGS reports are up to date.

· Prepare and maintain monthly inventory reconciliations in EKOS using best practices to ensure inventory accuracy.

· Work directly with internal management (and design team) to facilitate timely ordering of new packaging materials from suppliers. The primary focus is on getting new packaging materials processed with our design team, through supplier production.

· Evaluate all sales forecasts and production plans to maintain appropriate materials and consumables to both minimize excess inventory and ensure 100% delivery of ordered product.

· Coordinate with Packaging and Warehouse Supervisor to maintain cleanliness of warehouse and docks through disposal of unneeded supplies, functional organization, and seamless flow.

· Foster distributor relationships through consistent communication – checking on inventory needs, new item availability timelines, and product pricing.

· Evaluate appropriate distributor inventory levels by analyzing rate-of-sale while also factoring collaboration with their warehouse management staff and direction from the Director of Sales.

· Work with Director of Sales & Sales Team to complete NIF (new-item-form) paperwork with distributors and key retailers to ensure Seattle Cider SKUs are properly set up in key systems.
