Moog is hiring a Test Engineer to oversee and manage all aspects of the tests of assigned programs from the early proposal stage to the final testing. You may help lead a team of Test Engineer/Conductors and Technicians to fulfill cost, schedule, and technical requirements related to test. Reporting to an Engineering manager, you will work onsite in Chatsworth, CA.

As a Test Engineer, you will:
- Perform Cost Account Manager tasks.
- Generate proposal estimates.
- Generate standard hours and test schedule.
- Write test procedures, (which requires a thorough understanding of the product, requirements, and the associated tests) and update or modify work instructions.
- Design and oversee the fabrication of test tooling and equipment.
- Schedule work and assist in directing Test Engineer/Conductors and Technicians.
- Train operators in the testing of the product.
- Perform Production Testing as necessary and determined by the Test Lab Manager.
- Lead the troubleshooting effort to resolve test discrepancies.
- Maintain and manage test equipment and test schedule.
- Interface with the customer during program reviews and customer meetings to determine testing requirements and methods.
- Improve test methods and processes through automation, computer analysis, and innovative thinking.
To be considered for the role, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:
- BS Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace is desirable)
- 2+ years of Test Engineer work experience
- Experience with thermal vacuum systems and vibration testing
- Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
This position requires access to United States export-controlled information.
It’d be great if you also had:
- Experience in the aerospace, space, or defense industries
- Experience with Python and LabView programming
- Strong technical writing and communication skills
