Job Description
The Edmonton Police Service has an opportunity for a highly organized and competent individual to provide assistance with the CAST Team. When the onsite Branch Admin Clerks are not available the CAST person will report to the Branch to provide assistance normally assigned to the Branch Administrator. When not providing in-Branch relief CAST will specialize and be subject matter experts on various duties and functions. This position requires an individual with excellent interpersonal, organizational, time-management and multi-tasking skills. Responsibilities of this position will include:
- Create and maintain calendar management, prepare meeting agenda(s), take meeting minutes, prepare reports and presentations and to provide research and history on past meetings
- Answer incoming calls and emails and to provide assistance as required
- Liaise with the Community Policing Bureau
- Booking and managing training/travel arrangements for the Inspector and/or Staff Sergeant(s)
- Draft memo’s, transfer notices, temporary acting appointments and awards of merit
- Manage court schedule and attendance records
- Manage Criminal Flight Tracking
- Manage Police Vehicle Traffic Violations
- Preparing court packages
- Performing other related duties as required
- Completion of the twelfth (12th) school grade including business subjects with emphasis on general office practices, OR Completion of an appropriate certificate program from an approved business school/college OR Post Secondary Education in Administration.
- A minimum of two (2) progressively responsible and diversified office experience.
- Ability to prioritize work and time to meet competing deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to advise, guide, coach and mentor staff/co-workers.
- Ability to make independent decisions in accordance with policies and procedures, demonstrating a high degree of initiative, judgment and discretion.
- Ability to recognize sensitive issues and address matters of priority with senior leaders.
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of CARM, NicheUA, Acrobat Pro and other related databases.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to enter data with a high degree of accuracy and speed.
- As part of your pre-hire screening, you will be required to complete an Enhanced Security Clearance. Should you accept employment with the Edmonton Police Service you acknowledge and agree to participate in future Enhanced Security Re-Clearances at scheduled intervals or in any other circumstances, exigent or otherwise, as required by Human Resources Division.
Hours of Work:
33.75 hours per week. Hours of work may be subject to the terms and conditions of variable hours of work program.
Salary Range:
21M, Salary Grade: 006, $23.66 - $29.38 (Hourly), $1,597.30 - $1,983.50 (Bi-Weekly), $41,690.05 - $51,769.02(Annually). The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.
