Responsibilities
Familiarity with hotel operations/locations and ability to direct guests and answer guest
questions of general facility.
Solicit new accounts to meet/exceed room revenue goals for the Hotel any and all
applicable business for the assigned property, including telephone solicitation, outside
sales calls, site inspections and written communication. A sales person seeks new
business and does not only take leads.
Sell all aspects of the resort and not only rooms.
Prepare correspondence to customers on a timely manner, preparing internal booking
reports and file maintenance
Communicate with other departments to ensure reservations and group details are
complete to customer satisfaction
Assist with reports and /or competitive data collection as needed
Participation in sales and revenue meetings, training and other sales related meetings as
required
Attend community/social events and industry meetings in an effort to gain leads and
build relationships in the community
Develop and maintain knowledge of market trends, competition and customers.
Professionally represent the company at all times, especially while attending outside
events
Qualifications
Knowledge of hotel room sales and competitive market
Knowledge of planning and execution of sales solicitation effort that is consistent with
the sales and marketing objectives of The Seagate Hotel & Spa
Ability to effectively communicate with customers in a friendly and positive manner both
internally and externally
Ability to communicate customer needs to other departments in a timely manner and
resolve complaints from guests as needed
Proven ability in sales and skill in both oral and written communication
Prior management experience preferred
Experience in computer programs such as (Delphi, Microsoft Word, Excel, All Seated,
HMS, Jonas)
Ability to establish and achieve all sales goals
Four-year college degree preferred. However, any combination of education and training
within hotel sales may also be considered
A minimum of 3 years of past luxury hotel sales experience required. Experience with
golf a plus. Experience in Palm Beach market a plus.
Physical Requirements/ Other
Required to be able to work varying schedules from time to time. All employees are
required to attend all scheduled training and departmental sessions.
Must be able to sit up to 8 hours at a desk.
Must be able to work outside of traditional business hours including nights, holidays and
weekends.
Must be able to spend extended lengths of time viewing a computer screen
Lift, carry and push up to 40 plus pounds
Ability to travel up to 30%
Must be able to work in the field a minimum of four days in a week when the assignment
is out of your immediate home-based area.
