As our new New Business Development Director you will be reporting to Woodmeister’s President and will be responsible for overseeing and managing the company’s Sales Team, supporting them in their efforts to execute ownership-approved business plans and strategies. You will drive accountability and transparency by functioning as a partner for the Sales Team, the Business Development Team, the Operations Team, the Finance team, and Woodmeister’s Ownership to streamline capacity, utilization, and sales goals tracking and finally you will be wholly responsible for developing and implementing Sales Team KPIs, and ensuring they are adhered to and followed for maximum productivity and success.
What are some core responsibilities for this role?
You will partner with the Executive Leadership of Woodmeister Master Builder’s (WMB) including our President, CFO, and COO to develop WMB’s annual revenue goals and will own the execution and tracking of the sales strategy to achieve and exceed these goals. You will support the company’s capacity and budget planning by tracking and reporting the Sales Team’s current leads and prospective sales opportunities. You will be responsible for weekly reporting of current sales projections and their estimated schedule, allowing the company’s other departments to plan for resources requested and required if/when a lead converts to a project. You will also be a key leader and partner as WMB diversifies its sales strategy to a blend of relationship driven sales as well as broadening WMB’s success within competitive bidding processes with top architecture and design firms.
Other Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Produce annual Sales & Marketing strategy and business plan, department goals and corresponding annual budget
- Manage company’s Sales Team, including: hosting regular team/department meetings and individual meetings, providing approvals when needed, helping to motivate and encourage team by setting goals for the Sales team and driving accountability
- Responsible for cross-functional sales capacity meetings to ensure key partners remain informed of lead status and overall capacity planning
- Develop “Target Client Matrix” in collaboration with the President, and manage process for evaluating and qualifying appropriate projects, partnerships and opportunities for the company
- Acquire solid understanding of Woodmeister’s new CRM system and how to use it; function as the subject matter expert within the Company
- Maintain accuracy of company CRM system – contacts database and sales leads/opportunities and oversight of Sales team within this system
- Develop and maintain Sales budgets, with advisement on ROI
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in residential construction and 5-7 years of experience as a sales leader, managing a sales team is a MUST!
- Proven track record and a deep understanding of the full life cycle of residential construction, from sales to build to project completion
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate and close sales contracts, with a focus on profitability and customer satisfaction
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Proficient in Hubspot CRM software and other relevant sales tools is preferred
- Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events
- Experience with financial modeling recommended, but not required
- Technologically savvy, resourceful, creative, analytical and business-minded
- Possess demonstrated success in building and managing a high-performance sales function, with proven experience attracting, developing, and retaining ‘A+’ players
- Requires strong presentation, documentation, interpersonal skills, and a team-oriented approach.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively build and maintain relationships with clients and internal teams
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of above
