Signature Support Services provides support to people with developmental disabilities in their residential, work and leisure. Day Programs has the following position available:
- Job Coach for Persons with DisabilitiesSummer Student (16 weeks)
As a Job Coach for Persons with Disabilities, you are responsible for ensuring that support is provided to clients at their work experience, paid employment positions and leisure activities in the community. This position will be responsible to teach and or assist with skill classes. They will work closely with community businesses and agency staff to provide a positive approach that emphasizes client growth. The main hours of work are Monday to Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm. These hours may fluctuate. Salary will be $19.18/hr.
*****This position is a contract funded by the Government and requires applicants to be aged 18-30 and must be attending or returning to post-secondary education. Only applications that meet this criteria will be considered. *****
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Effective communication/interpersonal skills
- Good Team Player
- Excellent organizational skills
- Computer skills which must include experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Good Time Management Skills
- Must have a driver's license and own reliable vehicle – extensive use of vehicle is required as well as ability to transfer clients along with their walkers and wheelchairs when necessary
- Physically and Mentally fit
The position will remain open until a suitable candidate is found.
