Job Description

Crest is looking for a top-notch Benefits Account Manager to service and expand our benefits book of business. This is an opportunity of a lifetime to have a career in a fast-growing insurance brokerage firm. We have physical locations in Arizona, Colorado, California and Wyoming, servicing customers in all 50 states.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have and maintain a current Health and Life Insurance license.
  • High School Diploma/GED and 1-2 years of related experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to navigate various carrier websites to retrieve items for processing or customer inquiries.


Preferred Qualification:

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree
  • Previous experience working in EPIC, Zywave, ThinkHR, EASE, Employee Navigator

  • Ability to be highly organized, yet flexible in dealing with shifting priorities, fluctuating workloads, and evolving procedures.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and enjoy working with people in a high-volume customer service environment.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision, while maintaining positive staff relationships within a teamwork environment.


Examples of Essential Job Duties:

  • Build and maintain key client and carrier relationships, by phone, email, and in-person, including communication and presentations in-person or via internet videoconferences.
  • Document all client interactions, communications, and strategic initiatives in Crest's Agency Management System in accordance with required workflows, conventions, and protocols, with accuracy and within required timelines.
  • Assist assigned clients and Crest team members with service questions relating to administration, billing, claims issues, compliance and other problem solving as needed, within Crest Employee Benefits standards for response timeliness and professionalism.
  • Work with Producers and lead Account Service teams to create and manage timelines and project management plans related to benefit plan renewals, requests for proposal, creation of benefit communications materials and enrollment meetings.
  • Coordinate and lead service and regular stewardship meetings to demonstrate agency capabilities, review regulatory compliance, answer client questions and train client staff as needed. Continually evaluate relationship for cross-sell/development opportunities.
  • Review, evaluate and present renewal offers and supporting documentation from current carriers and vendors, requesting renewal information from client and creating, distributing and compiling responses to Requests for Proposal as needed.
  • Coordinate plan design changes, systems builds and communicate with vendors and carriers to assure accurate implementation and minimize Errors and Omissions
  • Lead benefit plan implementations; including open enrollment material design, renewal timeline development, and coordination of open enrollment meetings.
  • Assist clients with compliance and refer them to preferred vendors (ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, ERISA) as needed and appropriate.
  • Maintain and audit Crest benefit administration platforms, including their interface and interaction with insurance carrier and client system requirements.
  • Attend seminars, classes and carrier meetings to maintain current knowledge of market changes including legislative changes and Affordable Care Act regulations.
  • Mentor and train Account Assistants and other Account Management team members as needed or assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Medical Insurance: Multiple plans through Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Arizona. If enrolled in the High Deductible Plan, Crest will contribute to your HSA. On average, Crest pays between 85% - 100% of monthly premiums depending on the plan elected.
  • Company Provided Nice Telemedicine: This is a standalone product from the medical plan. A primary care clinic that brings medical visits, medications, labs, imaging and physical therapy to you virtually or at your home/office in select service markets FREE OF CHARGE. Some eligibility limits apply.
  • Dental: Two (2) plans through Delta Dental. Our "High" plan includes child and adult orthodontia.
  • Company Paid Life Insurance: Paid for employees, spouses/domestic partners and children.
  • Company Paid Employee Assistance Program (EAP): Up to six (6) face-to-face clinical sessions per person, per problem, per year along with access to Jorgensen Brooks Website with 5,000+ articles, tip sheets, interactive self-assessments, personal plans, audio files, etc.
  • Additional Voluntary Benefits: Hospital Indemnity Plan, GAP Plan, Short/Long Term Disability, Voluntary Life Insurance for yourself, spouse or qualified dependent(s), Accident, Cancer, Critical Illness, Pet Insurance reimbursement plan & Identity Theft.
  • 401k Retirement Savings Plan: Crest takes pride in the fact that we offer a 50% match of up to 4% of your gross earnings.
  • Sick Time: Up to 48 hours of paid sick leave each year as defined in the company paid sick leave policy.
  • Vacation Time: Full time employees start accruing vacation at 5 hours/pay period (3 weeks) at the time of hire. Vacation maxes out at 5 weeks for 10+ years of service.
  • Company Paid Holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day, Earned Bonus Holiday.
  • Early Release Holidays: Employees are provided with one early release day per month to coincide with Company Paid Holidays. Workload permitting, employees may leave at 1:00 PM and be paid for the remainder of the day as holiday time. In months with no holiday, executive management sets a predetermined date on the holiday calendar.
  • Work From Home Days: Crest provides employees with 12 days to work from home per year. Some limitations may apply for certain positions based on the job duties.
