Job Description
This position is typically held by an individual that has at least 5+ years’ experience as a Controls Technician or Project Engineer in the HVAC Controls/Building Automation industry. You must have Building Automation (DDC) industry knowledge and strong customer service skills. The selected individual should have an advanced understanding of HVAC mechanical systems, building operating systems, DDC systems and can analyze control system drawings, control sequences and schematics. Experience with Honeywell Tridium controls desired. He or she must exhibit strong leadership skills including team leading and the ability to empower others through delegating responsibility. This position is responsible for working with and overseeing subcontractors for the overall turnkey design, installation, and checkout, commissioning, and troubleshooting using detailed company guidelines, working closely with the project manager. Performs sales and customer support activities for controls systems products.
Compensation commensurate with experience, with a range of $115K-$130K per year, plus bonus, company vehicle, and excellent benefits.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review engineer's design per plan and specifications
- Review Hardware Design submittals
- Perform programming duties
- Lead project implementation efforts on projects of varying scope and size and lead validation on commissioning processes
- Prepare close out and hand over project to service department
- Diagnose communication problems and install control devices and other components as well as troubleshoot software and hardware issues
- Participate in field audits and related analysis and results and performance assurance of installed systems
- Keep field documentation up to date and organized.
- Oversee the onsite day-to-day activities of the project
- Troubleshoot and service BAS systems as needed
- Other duties may be assigned
EDUCATION:
- Four-year degree required or related work experience in the field of Building AutomationControls
EXPERIENCE:
- Five plus years related work experience required
BASIC SKILLS:
- Ability to analyze control system drawings and schematics. Programming skills strong desired, but assistance will be available with this function.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including but not limited to, Word and Excel
- Strong basic math skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
