We are currently hiring a Benefits & Wellness Administrator in Crystal Lake, IL.
What will you do as a Benefit & Wellness Administrator?
· Benefits Administration:
- Employee Benefits Knowledge: Manage and communicate employee benefits such as medical, dental, vision, savings plans, and Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs).
-Regulatory Compliance: Maintain knowledge of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), COBRA, and HIPAA. Ensure benefits administration is compliant with all relevant laws and regulations.
- New Hire Onboarding: Conduct new hire orientation meetings regarding benefits, acting as the main point of contact for benefit inquiries, enrollments, and changes.
- Benefits Management: Calculate deductions, code benefits in the system, and ensure accurate data for insurance carriers. Reconcile invoices and maintain consistent communication regarding benefit offerings to all employees.
- Annual Enrollment: Organize and communicate the annual open enrollment process, including setting up and managing vaccine and biometric clinics.
- Audits & Reporting: Perform periodic audits of census data and assist with annual reporting for IRS (including 1095 forms) and other governmental agencies (e.g., Medicare).
· FMLA:
- Leave Administration: Administer and track Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) requests, ensuring proper documentation and communication with employees, and monitoring leave balances in accordance with mandated timelines.
· Unemployment Claims:
- Claim Management: Review and respond to unemployment notices, analyze and process quarterly invoices, and prepare necessary documentation for hearings.
· Workers' Compensation:
- Claims Processing: Manage workers' compensation claims, including reporting and data entry in the carrier portal, as well as communicating with employees about time off and claims status.
· ADA:
- ADA Administration: Facilitate communication with employees regarding the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requests, ensuring compliance with all mandated timelines.
· Open Enrollment:
-Open Enrollment Experience: Demonstrated experience in managing and processing open enrollment for benefits, including effective communication of changes and coordination of resources.
Who qualifies for the Benefits & Wellness Administrator position?
· Associate’s degree from regionally accredited institution
· 3 – 5 years of relevant experience in administering employee benefits
· Strong understanding of ACA, COBRA, HIPPA, FMLA, WC and other benefit regulations
· Proficient in College ERP, HRIS systems and benefits software
· Highly organized, detail-oriented, and strong analytical abilities
· Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communications, and ability to present complex benefits information in clear and concise manner
· Ability to maintain confidentiality, demonstrate discretion, integrity and fairness
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or related field preferred
What hours will the Benefits & Wellness Administrator work?
· Monday – Friday, standard business hours
· 40-hour work week, possible nights and weekends periodically
· Temp-to-hire position
How much will you earn as a Benefits & Wellness Administrator?
· Starting pay is $35/hr
