Position Outline

Position: Korean Desk Group Sales Manager
Department: Western Sales Region
Reports to: 2nd VP – Korean/Chinese Sales Director
Location: Los Angeles, CA

*Base pay up to $80,000.00 per year. Sales bonus eligible position.

Position Purpose:
Ensure the successful sale of Nippon Life Benefits group products. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with Korean and Chinese brokers. Work with the assigned account manager to conserve and enhance existing business.

Essential Functions of the Job:

Selling Nippon Life Benefits products

  • Achieve annual new business sales goal.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with Korean brokers & General Agents.
  • Work with sales management and marketing to develop and execute a Korean marketing & sales strategy.
  • Actively participate in the renewal process to maintain favorable persistency.

Nature and Scope of Responsibilities:

Selling of Nippon Life Benefits products

  • Work with Korean and Chinese brokers to achieve new business sales goals.
  • Promote the values of NLB.

Work with the Account Management team

  • Support annual persistency goals
  • Participate in renewal presentations as required.

Broker/General Agent Relationships

  • Cultivate and maintain broker and general agent relationships.
  • Familiarize brokers and general agents with NLB products, service and value.

Product/Marketing Enhancement

  • Assist marketing in the development and execution of sales and marketing strategies.
  • Provide competitive industry data as requested.
  • Conduct NLB broker product seminars.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in group insurance sales.
  • Experience with varied products and case size.
  • Life-Health Agent license in assigned state(s) or ability to obtain within ninety (90) days of employment.
  • Valid US driver’s license.
  • Fluency in both English and Korean (reading, writing, and speaking) required.
  • Experience with Korean culture and customs.
  • Ability to work in the office 3 days a week.
