Job Description:

We are looking for a high-performing Director of Sales who will be responsible for our sales force in achieving all sales and gross margin objectives and help us meet acquisition and revenue growth targets by keeping our company competitive and innovative.

Responsibilities:

  • Determine annual unit and gross-profit plans by implementing marketing strategies.
  • Achieve Sales and Gross Profit objectives by leading the sales teams, as well as other defined KPI’s for the entire sales team, for the Year.
  • Design and implement a strategic business plan that expands the company’s customer base and ensures its strong presence in the market.
  • Work with the sales team to develop a database of qualified leads through referrals, telephone canvassing, face to face cold calling on business owners, by email, and networking.
  • Build and promote a strong sales team that understands long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them, understanding their needs and ensuring a continued high level of service is provided.
  • Working with all the appropriate members to ensure each existing or potential client receives timely accurate quotes and all the support information that enables the client to make their decisions in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Present sales, revenue and expenses reports and realistic forecasts to the management team.
  • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status.
  • Manage daily functioning of all sales team’s client relationships.
  • Develop and promote strategic, bespoke solutions to generate new business opportunities.
  • Train, coach and set objectives, monitor performance of existing sales team to ensure that assigned tasks and responsibilities are fulfilled.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 4-5 years of sales director level experience in the North American transportation industry
  • Outstanding team leadership and closing deals skills
  • Strong organizational and tactical skills to prioritize and manage the sales team to achieve set Sales Targets
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team-based approach and develop excellent relationships with all internal teams and customers.
  • Demonstrate high personal integrity and be willing to take responsibility for achieving annual sales and gross margin objectives.
  • Extensive knowledge of Transportation/Logistics industry and the key target markets
  • Superior customer relations skills, excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to contribute support and enhance the team.
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements
  • Computer knowledge – working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Proven track record of sales team development and potential book-of-business.
