The Global Sales Manager will manage the sales and distribution of products sold, except those sold on the European continent, by Fort Wayne Metals (FWM) by establishing sales territories, quotas and goals, and training programs for all Direct Sales Representatives, Distribution Partners and all Manufacturing Representatives (the Sales Team) employed by or contracted by the company. This position has total responsibility in the overall sales process, pre-sales through post-sales and requires excellent communication skills to effectively interface with customers and ensure their needs are met. This role requires strong commercial acumen, great people and management skills and the willingness and ability to travel internationally.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Accounting, or related field, is required.
  • An advanced degree in Business, Finance, or equivalent is preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Direct and coordinate activities involving the sales of all products offered by the company.
  • Identify, plan and prioritize developmental projects based on projected customer needs.
  • Prepare budgets and approve budget expenditures.
  • Periodically conduct technology/product updates for the Sales Team.
  • Provide timely feedback to senior management regarding performance.
  • Conduct and document meetings with appropriate cross functional teams.
  • Prepare action plans for individuals as well as for the team for effective search of leads and prospects.
  • Maintain contact with key customers to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Represent the company at trade meetings to listen to customers and promote products.
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve sales goals.

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Model and create a continuous learning mindset amongst teams via active use and engagement with the learning tools and opportunities provided by FWM.
  • Ensure accountability of team members through expectation setting, communication, coaching, performance management, corrective action, and potentially performance improvement plans in collaboration with Human Resources.
  • Conduct 6:15 conversations with direct reports according to FWM’s schedule.
  • Promote development among team members by identifying growth opportunities, encouraging stretch assignments and providing support for continual learning and advancement.
  • Manage individuals based on the essential functions and responsibilities as listed in their job description.

Skills Needed:

  • Strong selling and communication skills.
  • Must be able to work without close supervision and be capable of self-checking completed work.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel and work with a team of professionals located throughout the world.
  • Individual must have a strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
  • Command of a second language beyond English is preferred.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

  • Fast paced production environment.
  • Travel is approximately 50% of the time.
  • Must be able to access all areas of operation, including second floors.
  • Occasional lifting and bending required.
  • Moderate amounts of time spent sitting at a desk and interacting on the production floor.
