Job Description
As Director of Sales , you will lead a high-performing sales team to exceed booking and revenue goals. You will focus on securing group and leisure business for our upscale small resort through strategic account management, consulting with clients, and developing creative sales strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of group and meeting planner accounts to maximize bookings for conferences, weddings, and other events
- Create and execute sales and marketing plans to drive leads and close business, especially for midweek and lower season periods
- Consult with clients to design customized packages that meet their needs and budget
- Coach and train the sales team to provide exceptional client service and close deals
- Analyze market trends and competitors to craft innovative sales programs and packages
- Oversee proposal development and contract negotiations to get the best terms
- Monitor budget and forecasting to ensure sales targets are met or exceeded
- Report regularly on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) like bookings, catering spend, and average daily rate
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive sales experience in hospitality, preferably at a resort or hotel
- Proven track record of exceeding sales targets through strategic account development
- Strong relationship-building, communication, and client consultation skills
- Ability to inspire and lead a high-performing inside and outside sales team
- Experience handling RFPs, contracts, and negotiations to broker favorable deals
- Expertise with hotel booking software and data analytics tools
- Hospitality or business degree preferred but not required for the right candidate
- Valid driver’s license and willingness/ability to travel occasionally for conferences
- Strong work ethic and solutions-oriented mindset for constant improvement
- Must be a US citizen or legally authorized to work in the US.
