As a Technical Business Development Manager, You Create Chemistry By...


  • Serving as the direct technical contact for customers including distribution partners, contract manufacturers and brands to drive new business and sales in the actives space.
  • Acting as a leader and role model, providing technical expertise and translating customer needs to action.
  • Leveraging your project management and communication skills, and ability to present and adhere to project scope.
  • Demonstrating your ability to effectively interact directly with the customer, you will take the lead managing customer projects closely collaborating with your global and cross-functional colleagues, including research, sales, and marketing.
  • Exercising your understanding of personal care actives, market, competitors, and scientific claim generation will be essential as you provide solutions to meet our customers’ needs.
  • Applying your proven competencies in analytical thinking, communication, entrepreneurship, and work management will come into play as you lead the development of regional technical concepts.
  • Executing your knowledge and understanding of finished formulations / experience formulating as a valued asset with a direct impact on the regional strategy and in developing the global innovation pipeline; proposing pertinent technical solutions in relation to the personal care actives portfolio.
  • Successfully working in a dynamic team environment across functions including sales, marketing, technology and product management, identifying new business opportunities and initiatives, implementing actions as they relate to new launches and post-launch needs.

An educational background in Chemistry, biology or related field

Experience in Personal Care industry and Bioactives, technical and formulations knowledge and experience coupled with commercial (sales or marketing) experience

Pay Transparency


BASF is committed to pay transparency practices. The competitive Pay Range for this role is $132,500 - $165,000. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
